relative national rankings of stats with a Husker focus

I've shared details on what I'm posting here and, from this point on, the only difference is games against lower division opponents will no longer be counted.  There have been enough games played between FBS teams now.  Eventually, I might share stats from games played only between P5 teams as well.  I'm using cfbstats.com and footballperspective.com now for data and SOS rankings, respectively.  The Congrove SOS numbers I had used were based on the whole season before the games had been played (so that was a mistake).

We suck across the board but it's nice to see us at 3rd in sacks allowed. Alot of people thought we'd be 14th in the preseason with our statue qb

Thats a lot of stats to say we don't have a very good football team right now.

Let's be fair, though.  We have loads of people regularly saying worse than that without sharing factual information.  I need to start keeping a record so I can provide a graph spanning multiple coaches, years, decades...  The stats are still there (going back to 2008 on cfbstats.com) so it'd just be a matter of time and effort.  2012's historical scores are looking similar to this season's but the conference was weaker back then.  Michigan and Penn State certainly were anyway...and then you had Iowa and Minnesota arguably.  We had to get our blowout loss to Wisconsin in the CCG, too.

The only issue I have with any of that is they're only considering one stat within each of those categories to determine rankings.  E.g., passing offense rank is determined by passing yards per game only.  Never mind how many touchdowns you scored with the pass, how high your completion percentage is, etc.

The stats show this is a bottom tier team. The eye test says the same thing.

Well if you add those in it probably makes it worse

Not sure where you are getting that 32nd nationally thing...  the only 32 I see in that data is Pass D and Rush O and both of those are percentiles, which means that literally 68% of teams are BETTER than us in that.  We aren't 32nd.  We are considerably worse than that.
