Crazy Stuff Trump Supporters Say

Recommended Posts

OK...this is not a thread about crazy things TRUMP says.  It's a thread about what his followers say.

Here are a few examples that I have heard just in the last few weeks.

"What has he lied about, I can't think of anything".

"He wasn't my first choice, but now that he is in office, I'm glad we have him.  I really don't care if what he says is correct or lies or not, I'm glad he says the first thing that comes to his mind.  We need more of that in politics."

"Obama never called any military families"

"Everyone knows everyone is against the Nazis.  That's why Trump never tweets about them.  The real problem is the players taking a knee during the anthem"

"All the people he hires are wealthy, and they don't need our money so they'll do what's right."

"Thank god he tweets so we know what is happening, not what is just force fed to us by the MSM."

Had Trump not been elected, SNL, like the View, would have zero material. It would simply be "Hillary is President so there is nothing to discuss. She is perfect."

1. He's better than Hillary.

2. He's God's man for this time.    TG's Comment to this: Note as a supporter of republican presidents in the pass - The repub was always God's man while the dem wasn't so much.  I think it is presumptuous to speak on behalf of God.  Why is he's God's man?? -Is it only because he 'says' he will support pro life issues.  I'm glad he has given lip service to pro life issues after being pro choice a few years ago (convert for expediency sake?)  But what if he neglects doing the Micah 8:6 things:  He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? (1)To act justly and (2)to love mercy and (3)to walk humbly with your God.

These are 3 signs of being "God's Man".   How does Trump measure up?

3. The USA was going to become a 2nd rate country without Trump.    (a number of variations to this. Basically we needed a savior at this time and Trump was it.)

4. Yes, but he is less corrupt than Hillary.  (as though there is a threshold of corruption that is acceptable:facepalm:)

I hear 1 and 4 a lot from a family member that voted Trump.   I think a lot of that opinion ties into the sexism topic for the other thread.

Here is one that I posted on the Russian investigation thread:

I hear Trump supporters say that the special counsel was selected not because there was a crime that needed to be investigated but in order to find a crime (make one up if possible and string together enough 'evidence' to make it stick) to prosecute.  TG: However that doesn't meet the smell, taste, or eye test.  The recent actions by the admin and their supporters are proving that there is more than smoke here and that Mueller is getting close to the fire.

When I criticize Trump on Facebook, there's invariably a supporter who promises to pray for me.

According to some, he is literally a gift from God.

Wow.  Guess you have a different FB policy than I.  Those folks all got dropped or blocked right after election day.

I've never blocked anyone. I'll either wear them down or ignore them. And I'll never stop anyone from praying for me. Can't hurt.

My FB group also has a lot of scathingly good writers of a liberal bent who do their homework, so I have fewer and fewer rightwing cranks willing to engage. I'm usually commenting in someone else's post, where most of the free-for-alls take place.

And truth is.....some of those cranks are my oldest and dearest friends. People who've had my back forever. They are good people who walk the walk in their daily lives, and exhibit compassion and generosity to others. And then when the discussion turns to politics, they repeat the most virulent rightwing talking points and support the divisive politicians who betray pretty much everything they claim is in their hearts.

It's the damnedest thing I've had to deal with in my life. Up is down and dogs & cats are sleeping together.

Tramp supporters represent Whitey`s Last Stand.  That is, the privelege that the American White working male enjoyed in the industrial hey day has been decimated and Whitey is left "competing" with 3rd World labor-of color.  The capitalist class that once needed Him screwed Him "bigly" as they moved all industry overseas.

Tramp based his entire campaign bulls#!tting the White male into believing that he will bring it all back and of course thats nvr going to happen:  why pay the American White male 20 bucks/hr when you can pay a Bangladeshi 26 cents/hr?

The capitalist class has also screwed Whitey at home, bringing in similar cheap labor.  And to top it all off, Whitey is so stupid that he still sings the praises of the capitalist bosses that have f`d him-and capitalism itself.  Only the White American male does this as in the rest of the world workers actually fight back AGAINST the capitalists.

Well, back in the early 20th Century, the American worker actually did fight, but He was mainly of Eastern Euro descent then and He called himself a "Socialist" or "Communist" and voted for guys like Eugene Debs, not "yuge" bulls#!tting idiots like Tramp.

And the current rise of American fascism/Nazism is quite predictable as history tells us fascism always comes to the fore when capitalism is at its least stable point.  But capitalism and its associated White Supremacy are on the way out globally.  The older White American male worker also doesnt realize this obvious fact.  But said worker will soon die off from the planet and His flailing and anacronistic opinions and misguided influence will no longer be part of the conversation-thankfully.
