Diaco sounding off against Rugby Tackling

Most of the Omaha media speculated that Bobby D wanted to go off on other aspects of the team, rather than his D, but decided to hold back. For instance, his D was playing well against Purdue until the stopped 4th down gave Purdue the short field on their first TD. Then NU should have gone up by 2 scores in the 2nd half last week, but the offense could never do it.

Not saying that the D played well in either of the last 2 games, just trying to see things from Bobby D’s point of view.

Based on what we’ve seen from Riley coached teams, Diaco probably has some legitimate gripes. But what Diaco doesn’t seem to realize is that he’s the frikken defensive coordinator, we don’t give a crap about the strain. He just needs to do his job and field a defense. He can’t be so delusional as to think he could slip into the HC job here, without showing great potential in his current role, could he? If the defense was getting the job done then it may be worth a listen but it’s pretty hard to throw stones at other elements when your own glass house is not in order.

Agree that he would get more people to listen to him, if his D were performing this year. But, as others have posted above, it sounds like he is just fed up with the way Riley runs his team, and how the coaching staff is just pieced together, and they don’t complement each other.

Yep, that is definitely the vibe I’m getting. The next few weeks ought to be quite the ride. Just think of the back biting that will surface after the PSU shellacking....:snacks:

Rudderless ship.

So our current DC is taking shots at our old DC. And our old DC is firing back at our current DC. This is a freaking mess that needs to end. I have no idea why media members are getting Banker involved but its not helping the situation at all.

Sam going to get Banker’s thoughts is being a good reporter and journalist. He’s not trying to stir the pot, the pot was tipped over and spilled everywhere by Diaco.

There is no point to do that at this time other than stir the pot. He knows the coaches are done. Just let the next three weeks pass without any drama and let it be.
