This is a completely silly take. I can think something is in poor taste, and then post something that someone else thinks is in poor taste - there's nothing wrong with either person express their opinion or expressing their reaction to another's opinion.

As for the tweet, I think the choice of words "die for" is a poor choice. It diminishes the choice of those who are actually doing things they might make the ultimate sacrifice for and nobody should be willing to die for a football program. And as someone already mentioned, Collin being a member of the team means he shouldn't air dirty laundry - it's a bad look. But he's a college kid on twitter, so I don't care that much about him and his post, but I think a lot of the reaction to him and KJJ is disappointing.

Exactly...there is nothing wrong with it so don't cry about it (not you, i agree with you).

So you can claim to know one thing for sure but when someone else claims the opposite you say there's no way they can know that.

Seems legit.

Agreed

It's unrealistic to expect players to have the same emotional connection to a team as the fan base.   Only a handful of players choose a school because they bleed the school colors.  Jr. said throughout his recruitment that the only reason he even considered Nebraska was MR.  MR's gone, so it seems like a fairly understandable and mature reason for him to leave.  He didn't throw a baby fit, bad mouth the program, or otherwise cause drama.  He just did what he thought was best for him and announced it respectfully on twitter.

Moos, MR, and Frost gave a textbook example of how to handle a coaching transition like a professional and with class.  I think Jr. has conducted himself the same way.  I'm not in the habit of criticizing players, so I won't.  If other members of the team want to make comments I guess that's fine.  Teams require teamwork and commitment, so they are entitled to demand that from each other.  That said, some of this public stuff is not exactly the most mature or professional way to handle it.  They're college kids, still learning their trade.  They'll figure it out.

But any grown@$$ adult "fan" that is badmouthing or attacking Jr. on the twitters or whatever has developmental issues.

Good luck and god speed to those who want to leave.

I’ve got a solution for all of this. Outlaw Twitter. I’m half serious. Most of the uproar about these things stems from tweets. Players shouldn’t say so and so, fans shouldn’t be tweeting at players, etc. Ya know what, I don’t have a Twitter account and only coincidentally see tweets that are posted and talked about here on HB. In my estimation the only purpose for Twitter is for people to call attention to themselves, say how blessed they are for the umpteenth time to have been offered a scholarship, and/or disparage others. Not the best of purposes imo. Yet people hereabouts are constantly upset over what somebody did/said on Twitter. I understand it’s a problem, fans tweeting at players etc. but there’s a solution, quit using the gd Twitter and quit talking about it. Let it die the death it deserves. If it would stick to worthwhile newsfeed type stuff I think it would be fine but 90% of what I see from it has me convinced it is way more harmful than any good it may serve. Honestly I don’t miss not having it at all. It’s just one more thing I don’t have to worry about getting pissed off about. Y’all should try it.

You can at least err on the side of the benefit of the doubt when criticizing the character or work ethic or determination of an 18 year old kid you don't know :dunno

All the public info suggests he wanted to be here and was working hard to shape up and make that happen.

Neither of you know this. Unless you've seen a source that says it was his decision not to come, and not that he desperately wanted to and Frost wasn't interested, that's an inappropriate assumption about a kid you don't know.

I also said that if Frost wanted him here....prior to the quoted......

If Frost said, no, I commend both parties for keeping it quiet and professional.  Have you seen anything that it Frost said he wasn't welcome?  That KJJ was desperate to come here?  That he didn't choose to leave o his own?  Then that's the same assumption.  Bottom line, he isn't coming here. Either by choice or design.  If he didn't want to be here, fine.  If Frost didn't think he'd fit in, fine....

I think the only thing that bothered people about your post is that you said he wanted to be here "more than anybody."

That includes every other Husker who's ever been here. The ones who never got into any trouble, the ones who never got to play in a game but stayed, the ones who paid to be here when they had a scholarship offer elsewhere, the ones who did get into trouble but fixed things, etc. I think if you hadn't used that wording no one would've been arguing with you about it. He did seem like he was trying to get back to Nebraska.
