I thought he showed promise the first couple years and was well-liked.  Hasn't turned out too well in the long run, but none of our bball coaches have either.  Hiring a coach is such a crap shoot- if there were a magic formula everybody would be using it.

It’s been speculated for awhile that some combination of Eichorst and Delaney forced his hand.

 

Diaco’s disaster this season doesn’t make it the wrong move.  Just another example of how Riley doesn’t really have it in him to really take a stand on things.  Gets pushed around/let’s too many things happen that shouldn’t be going on to really make the ship go like it should.

What makes it a wrong move is if SE made the decision and not Riley.

Riley was essentially fired after game three this year.  I'm sorry you watched the whole season expecting to see a competitive team- it must have been maddening for you.  I didn't even bother watching today.  I have no embarrassment at all.  Zero.  If my choices were Bozo or Riley for 2018, I would choose Riley 100% of the time.  If for some Pelini were re-hired I would not watch a single thing to do with Nebraska football. 

 

If there were only two coaches left in the entire world, I would take Bo back over another year of Riley. 

 

If we keep Riley on longer than a this weekend the sellout streak is at risk, we lose even more commits, and guarantee yet another losing season.

 

Bo was a hot-head and a jack ass, but he won games and didn’t put up with jack holes like KJ Sr.

I will say it again, this is on Harvey and SE for hiring a coach without a committee, peroid. I never wanted this guy as HC! People asked togive him three years. Guess what, time is up and the results are in.

A committee isn’t needed to hire a coach if the AD is competent. Moos won’t use a committee on hiring Riley’s replacement.
