Popular Post brophog
Hopefully this thread doesn't get as long as the last one I started. I don't start threads often, I think I know why now. Scott Frost made mention of the fans in his press conference and related videos he sent out. While there is a marketing aspect to that, and selling tickets and getting donations is part of his job, this was more speaking to the fans as a community. Lots of us have been around boards like this for 20 or more years, we've seen it, we've been a part of it, we know of what I'm eluding. There is a unity now that none of those other coaches had in our online communities. In terms of our site here, it starts with the great moderators here. This was a hectic season and a difficult time to manage a community and I thought they did very well allowing things to happen without over-moderating and creating a bigger mess. We as this online community need to follow Scott's example and become a more unified community. That doesn't mean it's all rah rah, we are emotional people and this is an emotional game. However, when we look at some of the past struggles this program has had coming together, we as fans in an online community play our part, too. These games aren't interesting without fans, after all. I guess what I'm saying is we, too, have a new, fresh opportunity as online connected Husker fans to create unified communities behind a single purpose. As this world becomes more and more connected via the internet, it's not just the fans in the stands that can have an impact on a game. Scott Frost wasn't just talking to his players today, he's talking to you and to me. Let's also do our part to get this thing turned around. 11 Quote Link to comment

Whs from cb
We all need to remember this is a puzzle that has many pieces. It may take longer than we want to get back to the top but I for one like the hire and see good things coming. A change in how we handle the fundamentals of football, game management, and a coach talking to players on the sideline ( coaching ) will bring the changes we need to get back to the top. I think we all know we need to be patient. Quote Link to comment

Danny Bateman
It really is funny how things come full circle and this just feels like the complete package. Pelini was a good coach, but he was an utter hothead and his tenure was rank with controversy and embarrassing moments. He also lost 4 games every year he was here until the last year when he was fired before the bowl game (9-3) and never won more than 10. No championships. Riley was the polar opposite of Bo in character, but the results on the field were obviously mediocre. Frost is a young guy, a Husker legend, a brilliant offensive mind and is known to have excellent character. We could've hardly hired someone who is a better fit for this program. Any NU fan not elated today probably isn't a real NU fan. 1 Quote Link to comment

JJ Husker
I’m N. I think people will figure out rather organically that the difference is not winning or losing but how those W’s and L’s come to be. When people are bought into the process (United) and can see things getting better and have a feel for where it is headed, the inevitable losses take on a whole new meaning. It no longer is about 9 wins or 4 losses etc., it is about being proud of the effort and product and we finally have that to rally around again. 1 Quote Link to comment
