Oh man, I didn't grow up in Nebraska but one of the schools I taught at the PE teacher did a dancing unit.  I don't remember if he did square dancing but I remember the students hated having to dance.

Yep.  Not sure if it was a "course", but we learned square dancing in PE....

I can't remember if it was PE class but I vaguely remember learning square dancing in school. Clearly Scott Frost did too.

We square danced in PE at Chadron lol good times.

 

I think we lost Moore and likely Brown due to no more KDub. He is going to bolster some programs recruiting, I wish him the best in the future. I have faith in Walters, but we need to close in on some WR targets quickly

That would be a good idea to get them integrated into Nebraska society in case they lacked that in their upbringing. Maybe after spring game they could fit that in.

Side note: I think they always did the square dancing unit in 4th grade at my school. When I was in 4th grade it was one of the big anniversaries of Nebraska statehood, so we naturally had to do a performance for the whole school/parents

Wow square dancing in school is a real thing? Thank god I live in Omaha where we do our best not to live up to the national stereotype of being cornfed hicks. No offense to my western Nebraska brothers/sisters on the board

I grew up in Omaha and we did square dancing for PE in 5th grade (I think? maybe 4th grade).

Well crap. My final theory is it must be a public school thing since I went to catholic school. Would have much rather learned square dancing than go to private school.
