UCF equivalents at NU

Recommended Posts

So I'm hearing bits and pieces about how the coaches intend to use some of these new recruits, using the language of their success at UCF.

Examples:
Miles Jones will be used like Otis Anderson at UCF.

Today I heard that Caleb Tannor is expected to be our Shaquem Griffin.

Obviously Adrian Martinez is expected to become our McKenzie Milton.

Does anyone have any other UCF equivalents they see on the Husker roster, after NSD?

Breon Dixon was told the same thing -- about being used like Shaquem was.

Offering up my own, maybe Morgan or Woodyard as Tre'quan Smith

Spielman as Mike Hughes (returning kicks, anyway)

now we just need to get a linebacker to punt, and we'll have a Loudermilk.

ben stille can punt

If you watch Breon Dixon's h.s. highlight film, he could very well be a similar type player to Griffin if he can add the weight.

I think we're going to see plenty of similarities in Nebraska's offense and defense to what UCF did, but what I love about these coaches is that they seem to keep changing and adapting to stay ahead of the opponent.

I think Griffin was a great player and an amazing story.  They used him so much because he had a lot of success.  It is also very possible they used him in that role so much because they didn't quite have the other playmakers around him that could do similar things.

I fully expect to see the defense have several stars in a few years once Chinander gets his scheme installed and the right guys on campus.  There's no reason they can't have a Griffin-type player at each OLB spot and a Hughes-type player at each CB.  Throw in a solid DL, ILB, and Safety crew... and the Blackshirts will be back!  :throwdabones1:
