TGHusker
https://athlonsports.com/college-football/national-signing-day-2018-winners-and-losers We were the good surprise of the 2018 recruiting year per this article. Wisc was on the bad end of the surprise spectrum - not able to capitalize on their 13-1 year. Personally, I'm excited about the class. We got the type of players that fit Frost's system and that is better than just getting 'high star' players. When many of the players are 4 stars - that is a bonus. Yes, we missed on an DT and wish we could fill that void and a couple of other misses but given where we were to where we ended up - got to be excited about what this group of coaches will do wt a full year of recruiting. They are selling the dream: Rebuild NU into the national power that it once was and where it deserves to be once again. Yes I used the word "deserves" not because of a false sense of entitlement but because of the capital, human, emotional investment placed into this program by so many - fans, boosters, admin, coaches, etc. It is time to get a return on that investment and SF is the coach to get it done. This class is a 'down payment' on the process that will get us back to the top. Quote Nebraska – No. 22 recruiting class New head coaches can boom or bust on the recruiting trail, but Scott Frost was able to capitalize on the momentum from leading UCF to an undefeated season to put together a solid, all-around initial class as the man in charge of the Cornhuskers. Frost and his staff pulled players from all across the country – Alabama, South Dakota, Mississippi, Kansas, Arizona, Texas, Minnesota, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, California, and even Connecticut. This is not an easy task to begin with, but especially when you consider that he’s only been on the job a little more than two months. Nebraska ended with six four-star recruits and 18 three-star, placing the Huskers fourth in the Big Ten behind only Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan. Scarlet Overkill
But wait, i thought it was impossible to recruit to Nebraska. (I swear, if i hear one more national talking head parroting that narrative, Imma get in my car and drive to wherever they hole up, and punch them in the throat.) 3 Quote Link to comment

Moiraine
Wisconsin's always behind Nebraska in recruiting. They just don't act like it. Quote Link to comment

The difference is 'identity' and 'development'. Wisc ranks lower on recruiting but they have had a consistent identity even wt coaching changes - thanks to Barry. They also developed their players better. I think that has been our issue for many years - we got away from the Nebraska Way. I expect SF to correct this and we'll see more consistent recruiting to match our identity and much better player development. This article by McKewon expresses these thoughts as well. http://www.anchoragepress.com/national/sports/mckewon-with-another-recruiting-class-ranking-atop-the-big-ten/article_9c5bb8f3-e23a-57ce-9de7-cfddc8a39583.html Quote Link to comment
knapplc
I'm not sure what thread this belongs in, but I thought it was fun. This is probably as good a thread as any. 2 Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
It's pretty lame we didn't get a single Missouri recruit. Quote Link to comment

Some great athletes at positions of need. Maybe Frost & Co. can start dominating Missouri again soon, he's got some experience doing that from his playing days. 2 Quote Link to comment
