Saturday practices on March 31, April 7 & April 14

Last Pre-Spring-Game practice on Friday, April 20, 4:30-6:00 PM

Spring Game - Saturday, April 21 @ 11 AM

Final Spring Practice - Monday, April 23

Notes:

Tuesday/Thursday practices are earlier than they did at UCF but they're trying to go early enough to not have too many class conflicts.  Still working on what they'll do in the fall.

Other schools have had a "clean-up" practice after the Spring Game but Nebraska has not.  Gives a chance to go over what happened in the Spring Game.  But it sounds like the main reason for it is the timeframe between Spring Break and April 21.  Frost wanted the Spring Game on April 28 but couldn't get it to work.  So they had to have one practice before Spring Break and one practice after the Spring Game to make it work.

A brief recap from Frost's appearance on Husker Sports Nightly last night.

Quote

Frost said NU players have made gains — well, gains through weight losses — during winter conditioning with new Nebraska strength and conditioning coach Zach Duval. The players had a 52-day layoff — in a separate interview, left guard Jerald Foster told The World-Herald the players knew how rigorous the workouts would be beforehand — and had to get to work quickly.

"I’ve seen some before (and) after pictures, and it kind of looks like 'The Biggest Loser,'" Frost said of winter conditioning. "You see a picture of someone seven weeks ago before they started with Coach Duval, and there’s guys making really good gains and cutting body fat.”

Body fat percentage was one of Frost's concerns in January.
