That's where I stand as well. Whenever Nebraska comes first in discussing our football team it has to be Nebraska Cornhuskers-not Nebraska Huskers. That sounds weird. NUance Posted February 28, 2018 Share Posted February 28, 2018 With the full name of the university, the Nebraska Cornhuskers sounds far better. (Does anyone use Nebraska Huskers?) But for everyday use, just "Huskers" for short works just fine. Looking through my closet, it seems like most of my gear and clothing has just plain Huskers, and not Cornhuskers.
