cheekygeek
Palmer is coming back. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/mens-basketball/guard-james-palmer-withdraws-from-nba-draft-will-return-to/article_8e1f27a4-a87d-5e19-a5cb-057938621330.html No word yet on Copeland, but reportedly he had one workout to Palmer’s three. Both are smart enough to realize that Senior seasons at NU are good chances to increase their bankability to NBA teams. They will both have more team’s eyes on them this year. Quote Link to comment
GBRFAN
or there could be improved depth at the other 3 spots that they are able to show case their talents Quote Link to comment
RedSavage
There’s really no room for excuses for this upcoming season now. Tourney or bust for Miles. Quote Link to comment

I hear you on the potential for next season. Miles has had enough seasons to build depth with HIS kind of players. Now to declare how the season turns out and what that means for his future is tough. The big ten could be conceived as good or bad this year - we don't know in may. The team could go injury free and if so the facts would lead you do think that if TM is going to get NU there then now is the time. If he has 4 guys get injured then it would be tough to determine what's next. 1 Quote Link to comment

HS_Coach_C
With the recent news of these guys coming back, I think most people would agree that Miles now needs to make the NCAA tournament this year or he's toast. Even if they do that, if they go one-and-done in the Big Ten tourney and the same in the NCAA tourney, he's on razor-thin ice. Quote Link to comment

GBRFAN
Everybody comes up with these must haves or he's done. What are the must have's that will get everybody to back off in the off season - sweet 16? Quote Link to comment

Moos basically said we need to compete for championships in all sports. With the history of our men's basketball program, that can be somewhat lenient, but with how long he's been here, Miles should at least be competitive for the Big Ten title and be getting to the NCAA tournament at least half of the time. Last year didn't really impress with how we finished, but it exceeded expectations and bought Miles more time. This year expectations are going to be high, so they need to accomplish more for him to stay. I know plenty of things are taken into account when deciding to fire or retain a coach. Miles has done pretty well with almost every aspect except consistency on the court. Sure if he keeps doing those things well but loses 3 starters to injury, he might be able to survive a losing season. But at some point being a good person who has raised the basketball APR scores is not going to cut it if the product on the court is an eyesore. Quote Link to comment
