TGHusker
I posted this in the other thread - I wonder if Ryan sees impeachment coming and wants to get out of town before the crap hits the fan. This would be a no win situation for Republicans even for those few who would support impeachment. 1. For those 'principled repubs' who support impeachment, they would come under immediate attack from the Trumpsters. Not only would they have Dems going after their seat but also trump supporters would be fighting them in town halls and most likely trying to unseat them if possible. 2. If an impeachment were to occur, it will only add to the blue wave that is predicted. Impeachment will start in the house and it will be a circus. Ryan, not known for standing up and fighting, would have to be the circus leader as House Speaker. Much easier to go home to Wisc, reinvent himself and come back when the clouds clear. Maybe he'll eventually run for governor or Senate. Link to comment
Fru
"Deputy AG, FBI director make unannounced visit to Paul Ryan's office" https://www.politico.com/story/2018/01/03/ryan-rosenstein-wray-fbi-justice-322618 I'm curious if this has anything to do with Paul's decision. Link to comment
