Hans Gruber
I don't see any of these polls on defensive players. Who are you taking among the play-making outside linebackers of the last 25 years? 1 Quote Link to comment
knapplc
This is just evil. Voted for Demorrio Williams, but there's no wrong vote here. 2 Quote Link to comment
Hans Gruber
I went with David. May be recency bias. Quote Link to comment
Xmas32
This might be my favorite of the recent 'vs.' polls. Agree that there is no wrong answer here. David has been my favorite LB since Carlos Polk but my childhood bias towards the heat seeking missile that was Terrell Farley shall forever be etched onto my psyche. Quote Link to comment

Huskers93-97
Didnt Tom Osborne say if Terrell Farley came back in 96 we would have won the national title? On that alone I have to go with Farley. 1 Quote Link to comment
hskerprid
Farley was a BAD man! Fantastic athleticism. 1 Quote Link to comment

Cdog923
I voted for David; he seemed like the best pure linebacker of the three. William's was best as a pass rusher with his hand in the dirt, and Farley was a disruptive force in the backfield. Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
I don't see how anyone could vote someone other than Farley. Y'all need to go back and watch the videos again. David was awesome but Farley was double awesome. 3 Quote Link to comment

I'm not going out on a limb saying that Farley had the best talent around him. He played for two years with Wistrom, Tomich and Jason Peter. That's a pair of first round picks and a second rounder in front of him. All that's to say that it's easier to fly around and do whatever you want as a linebacker when you're surrounded by the best players in the country up front. Farley could take more risks because he had other All Americans around to pick up the slack if he guessed wrong. He could abandon an assignment based on a gut instinct with fewer repercussions than David or Williams. 2 Quote Link to comment

He missed the first 2 games. They went 1-1 without him. Came back and won 8 straight and he was kicked off team 1 Quote Link to comment

MichiganDad3
Farley. 1995 (Link) Farley led the team in 1995 in tackles (62), interceptions (three) and blocked kicks (two), and was second in sacks (five). Two of the ints were returned for TDs Farley also returned a punt for a TD in 1996 Quote Link to comment
