Mavric
Quote No. 2: Brenden Jaimes In the life-comes-at-you-fast category, a year ago at this time Brenden Jaimes had not played in a college football game. Now he's likely to start at what could be argued the most important position outside of quarterback. The left tackle job became open when Nick Gates decided to forgo his senior year and try his luck at pro football. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound Jaimes, who started the last nine games of the 2017 season at right tackle, became the obvious candidate to switch sides, set to protect some young quarterback's backside. 247 1 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Quote No. 1: Stanley Morgan Few would argue senior wide receiver Stanley Morgan is the best player Nebraska has on the roster. Others may have upside. Morgan has actually done it. He's actually broke a school record for receiving yards in a season, and caught one-handed touchdowns, and had a leaping tying touchdown in traffic at Miami ... as a freshman. Now, some would argue he shouldn't be No. 1 on this particular list. Your critiques are both acknowledged and understood even before you state them out loud. The case against Morgan being No. 1 buys into the belief that the Huskers have enough talent at his position that they could still put up numbers even if they had to do it without their best guy. While we here at Husker247 are just as intrigued as you by what guys like Mike Williams, Jaron Woodyard and Jaevon McQuitty, and a motivated Tyjon Lindsey, might do to help Morgan and JD Spielman, it's still quite the leap to say any of them are ready to come close to doing what Morgan can do for this team. Coaches themselves have not held back in saying about Morgan, 'That's a guy we have to get the football.' Tight ends coach Sean Beckton said that unsolicited to fans in Blair yesterday. 247 2 Quote Link to comment
brophog
They certainly have shown they don't know what indispensable means (please stay healthy, Jaimes). Quote Link to comment
