I said previously on the board even when he was at JUCO he never had the jets in the open field. He may be a little 'tight' but he doesn't have the burners people had hoped for.

Here's a hypothetical that's kind of interesting to kick around regarding Martinez's status:

 

Let's say the doctors and trainers determine that he's at 80-90% by Friday evening.

 

Should he play? Maybe he doesn't start but comes in at halftime?

 

Of course, we as fans never know what the doctors are actually saying. But reading between the lines I might guess that he'll be around 80-90% by game time (and this is just internet babble for discussion).

It's going to be really interesting to see if the old adage "more improvement between week one and week two the any other" holds up.

 

If so.....I'm going to like what I see this week.  Hopefully that improvement comes in cleaning up the messy mistakes.

This is what I've been thinking.  He hasn't ever looked like he's had that third gear for those long touchdown runs.
