  1. The game was officiated horribly, and both teams got a lot of bad breaks. As one fan pointed out, Nebraska got away with obvious pass interference and roughing the passer on the same play near the end of the game. There were a lot of missed calls and bad calls, and they went both ways. It may not be much consolation, but the incompetent officiating evens out, it really does.
  2. Wow, I thought Minnesota had bad fans. Based on last night's performance, I'd say Rhule is building a team that will be physical, detail oriented, and play at an accelerated pace. And if he can get the personnel, that will be a winning combination. Put the brakes on the loser bandwagon. Your new coach, in his first game with an under-construction roster, playing new schemes, against a pretty good Big Ten team, on the road...almost won.
  3. Dang right, you're about 8% of the way to accomplishing my hope.
  4. Hey folks, I'm not the most active poster on this board, being a rabid Gophers fan and all. But some of you will have seen that I said that I hope the Huskers finish 11-1 this year. I really mean it, I'd like to see your team succeed. After all, though I consider Nebraska a rival, your team isn't a hated rival. The nicest outcome I can think of in the Big Ten West would be for Minnesota to finish first and Nebraska to come in second with defeats of Wiscy and the Ioways on the ledger. So good luck, all. And don't forget why Iowa plays on artificial turf...
  5. It's a beautiful facility and a fanbase that does it justice. I hope the Huskers enjoy an 11-1 season in 2023.
  6. As a Gophers fan, Gosh I hate this old line. Bernie Bierman won five national championships at Minnesota, and Murray Warmath won another. Glen Mason turned around a losing program. And Henry Williams won 136 games in 22 years, at a time when college teams regularly played fewer than 8 games a year. PJ Fleck is having a decent run, you know, having taken over a team that was winning under the previous two head coaches, but winning more games in an era when they play 50% more games per season doesn't make him the best coach we ever had.
  7. If I were a Husker fan, I would probably be satisfied but underwhelmed by this hire. If that's how you feel, I got you. Good luck, NU. I look forward to your team being a great rival and frequent second-place finisher in the West division.
  8. Really looking forward to this game. A win against Nebraska always look good on the resume, even in the 21st century.
  9. Staggering is a good word. Astonishing is another. This is incredible money.
  10. I would probably lash out too, if I were you. Don't feel bad. On the other hand, go ahead and feel bad.
  11. You will never see so many Husker fans in Minnesota as there are today. Just wanted you all to know that we're pulling for you.
