False. Look at Kansas St. They lose their stud d-back, and boom, Baylor throws 52 points at them. Before Baylor, the most points they gave up was 30 to Oklahoma St. They played stout D all year, and when a lynchpin player goes out, it starts the dominoes falling. Yes, our players quit near the end, but it all started with our 1 weakness getting worse, leading to have to move over a DE to DT making that position weaker, then moving the LBs up to help with the weak line, in turn the DBs move up and play more man-coverage, etc, etc. Our one player being out made the whole defense considerably worse.

Lo Country, that was great! The SEC is not that spectacular, and heck, if you compare SEC linemen vs. B1G linemen, it's pretty darn even. They get us on the speed part.

That's my point. We will continue to get thrashed until we start getting NFL talent (size is a part of that equation). Check our roster. The RS Freshman and True Freshman this year, are the size that Bo has been looking for. McMullen, according to Papuchis and Coach Kaz, has made a huge impact on our Dline, along with Valentine and Curry. Two of these guys would have been playing if Meredith would have never volunteered to move to DT. Bo, I think is looking down the road, rather than just this year. I think he sees a BCS shot with this two last classes he recruited. Sure man. There's "always next year." And then there's "the year after that", etc. We've been saying this for 4 years. I wish everyone was as optimistic as you.

I change the font from 14 pt. to 18 pt. and all the sudden I'm offensive? Wow, the real world must be a scary place for you. Yes, it is easy. Look at the 11 starters that have done it from Wisconsin.... I didn't even mention the coaching staff. You seem to make a lot of assumptions. My point is, something is seriously wrong if we only put 1 starting lineman in the NFL in the last 3 years. You can say all you want about "team chemistry" or whatnot, but the fact is that great players make great teams, and you measure that by seeing how many make it to the next level. Off the top of my head, three college teams with some of the best linemen are Wisconsin, Alabama, and LSU. We've covered Wisconsin (11 NFL starters), but Alabama (9) and LSU (11) are right up there too. This is why you saw the CCG debacle. I don't know if it's recruiting, development, or a combination of both, but if we want to get serious about winning games, it all starts with the trenches.

This has been discussed, but in my eyes, Solich wasn't a failure, and if I remember correctly, Osborne didn't endorse the hiring of Steve Ped.

Pretty poor showing, if you ask me. Agree with everything you said. We habitually under-perform every year, but it's slightly more complicated. We have speed talent up the whazoo, but we are always lacking on the O and D lines. Quick, name a player besides Suh that played line (either side of the ball) in the last 3 years and is in the NFL? Uh, Carl Nicks? Now, name NU speed players in the last 3 years now in the NFL. I can think of at least 10 in the time it took me to write this sentence. So, yes, we have tons of NFL players, but most of that talent is wasted because they don't have good lines to play behind.
