  1. 1. Perhaps the university shouldnt have dragged its feet with this elongated search for president. Trev had power, money and security; but with like many jobs- people can lose interest under bad leaders, temp leaders or absent leaders. Perhaps trev's interest drifted due to the ongoing uncertainty on who his boss was going to be in and it opened the door for others to swoop in. 2. We 100% need to bring in a guy who prioritizes the health and strength of the football program. I get the AD is the leader for all sports, but nebraska falls in the category that maybe 10 other programs do where its football or bust. We cannot afford to lose matt rhule and take a step back on what is being built. 3. Serious look needs to be done at the regents/higher ups. You just lost a relatively young AD who was doing great things who happened to be a literal nebraska guy. To have him just leave without a trace of suspicion is a bad look on leadership. Sounds like they didn't even have runway to try and see what it would take for trev to stay.
  2. probably a bit of a change and potentially a bit of a drop off. That being said, they have a lot of talent at the skill positions and much of their downfall last year was their inept defense that we simply couldnt take advantage of given we were more inept offensively. Shadeur Sanders alone is a tough challenge for any one- as much as i cant stand his and the broader team's antics- the guy's ability to extend plays, his arm, and the speed around him represents a tough challenge for anyone. they certainly wont suck on offense
  3. 7-0/6-1 start is critical, that back 5 stretch will be fun but I dont wanna enter it at 4-3 needing to win a couple just for .500. Colorado offense wont be bad in the opening stretch- similar to last year they're prolly the 2nd best offense we're gonna face .
  4. I've pretty much switched to podcasts. Mostly the 24/7 crew and occasional Husker online podcast. I used to listen to pick6 but their audio quality coupled with just their overall boring tone and monotonous style turned me off. Cant wait for spring ball to pick up in a month so we have some actual content to run with! luckily the mens team actually has a pulse for once and perhaps a march madness run to fill the gap!
  5. what a shocker, a mediocre personality in the local sports media coming out with a horrendous take. I think Josh spent his monday watching jj reddick go scorched earth for clicks and said "im gonna do the same tomorrow, dammit" Big ten and other conferences were already at a disadvantage against the SEC in playing more conf games and not loading up on cupcakes to the same level SEC did. Unless the playoffs expands to 32 (which I do not want, just so we're clear) it makes zero sense to play a major program early when others do not. Now, if the conferences wanted to some kind of SEC-Bigten challenge where every team has to play a school from the other conf then I can get behind that. But to selectively sign up for a battle early on when you're going to have 4-6, maybe even more battles in conf play with the super conferences is just dumb
  6. a changing of the guard. I hope there's a new Rhuler ready to take what's his
  7. the stars r aligning for us boys and girls. Michigan will surely take a step down, at least a minor dip. Washington could take a major dip. There's a power vacuum occurring in the big ten. Hopefully a new Rhuler stands up and takes what's his. GBR
  8. I assumed he'd be coming here as a part of the coaching staff but this doesn't rule him out from an analyst roll. Gary patterson seems to have found a home on sarks staff in an analyst type position. No recruiting expectations, can focus on gameplan/practice execution. Not bad to get paid pretty good money to do that and be part of a progrum again without having the time commitment an official coaching/staff member would demand
  9. Outside of urban meyer I dont think any candidate has the experience that would meet what you outlined and urban isnt even a candidate
  10. I think this has already been debunked right? Quite a few confirmations yesterday dan lanning was seen in Eugene at a movie theatre with his wife lol.... college football hysteria at its finest... remember when we all thought the Sweater was gonna be our coach in 2014? good times good times
  11. If I'm a bama fan Im not feeling great right now. Still an attractive job but even top candidates have to be a little wary of following in the footsteps of the greatest the sport has ever scene... Literally nearly impossible expectations are waiting for them. The slide at bama already started. NIL+Transfer portal + the impossible task saban had of having a revolving door of assistant coaches being poached and going elsewhere. Its a testament to his legacy as to how he was able to sustain that success at that level for so long. All that said, the bama of the past couple of years did not look to be the same bama both on paper and the eye test that we saw steam roll CFB in the 2010's.
  12. I'm sure if the transfer portal existed back in the 90s/2000s, franks 5 year slide wouldve occured at a much more rapid clip
  13. Wow. End of the greatest coaching era in college football history. Cant wait to see the sharp decline of Bama. I wonder if Big8conferenceforever is gonna question their status as a blue blood in a few years when theyre not in the playoffs anymore
  14. Thats the reason we're all fans of this team in the first place. I'm done with pessimism on this here board, its time we have some measured confidence, optimism and hopeful swagger
