  1. Back in May of 2009 we went to the Stadium and accidentally stumbled onto the self-guided tour. We didn't really have the time we would have liked to really look around but we did get to pretty much go through the whole thing. The video room was closed while we were there due to some equipment malfunction so we didn't get to see anything but the room itself was pretty cool! If you go to our site (copied below) and go to the May section you can see all the pictures we took. Those don't cover everything but I think only because we ran out of memory on the card we were using... I don't know if there are any copyright issues with posting this online (here) but of course full credit should go to the wonderful people who put the whole experience together for the University of Nebraska. Hope you enjoy! http://huskersvecs.shutterfly.com/
  2. Let me start off by saying that my position as a Husker could barely be worse; and I’m damn proud of it! My in-laws are all from Texas, she went to CU, and while I was born and raised in Nebraska, I now live in Denver Colorado. When we lose to a South team, her family calls; when we lose to a North team, everyone else does. One can barely imagine when we lose to either Texas or CU… And obviously this year has been even harder than most. Even with all that though, I’ll be spending my only vacation (and my birthday) on glorious Nebraska Husker soil at the Kansas State game, and then spending the rest of the little money I make at the CU game up here. I’m only 26 so I’ve been raised on Nebraska football at its finest the whole way so this season hurts even more for that. I have been PROUD of my fellow fans my whole life and even more so when exposed to some of the things they call “fans” up here… With all that being said there are a few things that I’ve learned from Nebraska that apparently need to be brought back out and screamed from on high: You may wake up one day and realize that some of the people you thought you could depend on aren’t even worth the time spent learning their names. This happens sometimes. Just make sure that you don’t put all the people you CAN depend on in the same category. Because fellas, there are people out here you can depend on. Some of us are right here on this page… You may find that suddenly no one thinks you can get it done. Remember that there is nothing more FUN than proving they’re all wrong. This is HUSKER Football baby, counting us out is NEVER a good bet… At some point you might find yourself down; you might even find yourself losing. That is the same point that you put your head down, dig in your heels, AND DRIVE FOR ALL THAT YOU’RE WORTH! And if you haven't crossed the line before you fall, its alright; we love you because you Tried for us... My Nebraska flag will be flying high in my front lawn while I’m at the CU game, and I’ll be screaming my Scarlet and Cream lungs out for every Husker play. My passion and support for Nebraska Football will fade the same time my Husker tattoo will; THE DAY THAT I DIE! GO BIG RED!!!
  3. Nebraska 28 Southern Cal 25 290 yards passing 230 yards rushing The HUSKERS bring down the mighty!!
  4. In the best tradition of BOTH Michigan and Nebraska football; good show. I was worried going into CU and Michigan but we showed up in the end. Once again, good show Wolverine. Good luck next year; until you come up against us again...
  5. We'll take them. They deserve a good beating. I'm tired of listening to all the Buff crap up here in Denver. This year they're ours!!! GBR!!
  6. Shaggy cows taste good... Especially after some turkey. GO BIG RED!!!!!
  7. Ironically enough, I almost appreciate the way things have gone for my Huskers the last couple of seasons. That may sound ridiculous, but I relish the chance to show my COMPLETE support at a time when they need it the most. Huskergriff had it exactly right, this should be the true measure of the fans. I don't like "humble pie" any more than the next guy, but I know in the long run it will only make us stronger. Nebraska was so used to stomping it's opponents that perhaps they (and the fans) forgot how it feels to NEED to be competitive. I hate having to wonder if there is going to be a bowl game at the end of the year, but I think it is really unfair to call for BC's head on a pike so soon. He's been bringing in some fantastic talent (who snagged Swift?) of late and I really think we need to give him a chance to cultivate it and see if he can turn it into a DIFFERENT, but not necessarily changed, tradition of power. Of course we all want our #1 ranking back, but we have to earn it first. Not only the players and coaches, but the fans as well. I definitely feel your pain, for it is mine as well, but please have some patience. Remember... That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger. And watch out you ugly shaggy cows, we're coming for you next. GBR!!!
  8. "Oh yeah, Frasier is in Crete sorry Vae" "Turner is working for the Green Bay Packers, Tommie Frazier is at Crete." Sorry guys, brain freeze. I need more sleep or less work. Thanks for catching that.
  9. I think Turner is fairly happy up in Crete. (I love that town...) In regards to what will/may happen to Callahan, I know it kills me but I honestly think we need to have a little more patience with him. This guy had MASSIVE shoes to fill (reference this very board) and it's going to take him more than a couple of seasons to grow into them. And permit me to remind everyone that (my hero) Dr. Tom was quite a bit more... animated in his earlier coaching years. Believe me, this hurts me tremendously and I have a feeling it may get worse yet. I bleed scarlet and cream in Buff country... I'm not saying there's no room for criticism, but let's try to avoid sticking his head on a pike just yet.
  10. Hey, while this may be capable of endless jests, these stupid Buff fans are no joke. Believe me, I live in Denver and drive down to Boulder every so often to use the University library. Thus far I've been able to walk around the campus (decked out in my Husker finery) without getting pounded, although there have been a couple of close calls. I went to the game two years ago when it was up at Folsum and it was an... experience. Great view, lousy fans. Terrible fans in fact. If everything is still the same, the Nebraska section should be in the Northwest corner of the stadium. And here is the best advice I can give you: If you're surrounded by Buff fans, try to find another Buff fan sitting in the Nebraska section and trade them seats. I had to do that less than two minutes after the game a couple of years ago started. And after we win, hightail it to your car ASAP. I'm not trying to be a dramatist or sensationalist, but the only time I didn't fear for my life while I was there was the time before kickoff. Oh yeah, and wear something that is as waterproof as possible. (For some reason, a lot of full cups find Husker fans without warning...) Don't let this convince you it has scared me away though, I'll be there again this year. In my poncho.
  11. NU 27 OK 13 Passing: 290 yds Rushing: 140 yds
  12. I almost wish we were still unrated. Then we wouldn't have to worry about being rated. (I feel compelled to admit that I did cut out the newspaper poll though...)
  13. I'm with you on this one. My momma always told me, "If you're gonna get beat, you wanna get beat by the best." I don't know about USC and Texas though... At the same time, I don't think TT would have a chance against USC... But I would like to see a NU vs. TT rematch. REVENGE!!
  14. For some reason, I can't seem to access the article. Does anyone know why? Could someone who can cut and paste it for me?
