  1. Looks like we are about set. Couple more guys out there, but here is my breakdown. I List 3 categories. "Elite Players" (huge gets)," Great Prospects" (many schools were interested and we are grateful to get these types of players in any year to round out a class), Show Me Something (underrated, not many other offers, projects). Elite Players: 1a. Eric Lee 1b. Avery Anderson 1c. Khalil Davis 1d. Carlos Davis 5. Christian Gaylord 6. Jalin Barnett 7. Stanley Morgan 8. Dedrick Young Great Prospects 9. Lavon Alston 10. Mo Berry 11. DaiShon Neal 12. Devine Ozigbo 13. Aaron Williams 14. Matt Snyder Exceptions- Michael Decker and Jordan Ober. Always take the top NE talent, and if the staff decides they need to offer a specialist, by all means. Decker may have got big offers if not for being in state and shutting it down right away. Show Me Something 17. Willie Sykes 18. Alex Davis 19. Tyrin Fergueson 20. Antonio Reed The last 4 listed could be as good or better than any of them. You never know. Paulu goes in at about #10 when he commits today. Great class and 4 wildcards imo.
  2. Are the coaches still in home for a visit tonight? I read that a few days ago. It sounded crazy that he is leaving today and they will be at his house the same day. But if his time table stands up, no way he could pick anyone but us right?
  3. No way we accept these 2 commitments this morning if we don't have room for the other 4 "elite" visiting prospects this weekend. Mainly Paulu and Alston.
  4. Well, now he isn't on their commit list. A writer leaked some info?
  5. Rivals shows him as a commit at of 1/30. No write up or thread, but he is on their commit list for Nebraska.
  6. Riley visited 2 DE's in Florida today. This dude and Ruben Jones. Jones decommits and Ford commits to Rutgers. He must be saying you need to be N or our offer is pulled to focus on other players.
  7. Their offers are the most important. You can't see that? Everything else is subjective. He has a good first step.. He is built like an ox.. Ect. Offers are concrete, the better the offers the better the player in my opinion. I think it should be that way. I disagree completely with what you said. That's not the only part in ranking a kid, obviously there are a lot to it, but it should weigh heavily.
  8. I'd say you can forget about Stewart. Who is the last guy that failed to make grades, went to JUCO, and then actually made it to NU? When was the last time our coaches placed a HS in IWCC? Stewart will be N as long as the coaches stay in contact. However, he will not be part of this class. The plan was to RS at IWCC then play 1 yr, leaving 3 yrs to play at Nebraska. He still has one year to go at IWCC. 1 year prior with Tra'vell Dixon. I can't think of any others off the top of my head, there was a TE from Texas, maybe Harper or something, about 4 years ago. That's what they always call it when someone doesn't make grades and has to go to JUCO - "being place by the coaching staff at a JUCO." The coaches basically recommend a place they are familiar with, a relationship with the coaches, basically somewhere to make it easier to follow them. I'd say it nearly never happens that this said recruit goes back to the original committed school. Same this Stewart. Nothing out of the ordinary was offered to this kid. "Good luck, we will watch you, but we can probably get someone better and he will have 2 more years than you do." He's gone, he's not going to get offered again. Harper was a juco recruit and not "placed" by NU. Dixon went the Juco route but again, wasn't "placed" by NU. Scenario, staff remains in place and stewart becomes a juco all-american. You're telling us the staff won't offer him despite being placed there, it's in NU's backyard and he once was comitted to NU? Yes, they were placed, google any old article on Dixon - there was a Journal Star one saying the coaches were helping him find a school. Its just the terminology they use. If they don't help them find a JUCO then they look like punks. Literally nothing was different with Stewart. Maybe if he became an all american - but at that point he would probably get an offer from a Big 12 school back home and not come here.

  11. You're right. He's not on our list on Rivals for some reason. Rivals doesn't go back and put transfer players in a particular year's list of commits.
  12. That should be the lineup. That is all of their natural positions. This is where Leslie Smith will really hurt, hopefully he can be back by January. Because the 5 should say Smith/Abraham.
  13. Westerkamp, Valentine, Cooper, Mikale Wilbon, Matt Finnin, Tanner Farmer and now Brokop. Illinois has been very good to us! And Spencer Tears. Er, wait..
  14. Andrew White is a big dude. Tarin Smith also looks well put together for an 18 year old. That tall dude is def over 7 foot.
