  1. Outblock, Outtackle, Outhustle. It's usually pretty simple in theory. The problem is that the Auburn coaching staff and players are aware of this. I look forward to a good game. WDE
  2. You will get a good game. Sears and Blackmon sat out the LSU game. In that game we won the most violent game I ever saw. The Tigers will miss Lester, but Irons and the other will impress you well. The big point is that Tuberville means it when he says the players must obey the rules. If they don't they won't play. If it happens to much, they are gone. This causes small deficits from time-to-time, but the benefit from overall team discipline far outweighs the loss from selfish players. I'm not saying that AU will win, but your players better be packing extra chin straps instead of thinking that they will have an easy time over second-rate players. Here's hoping for a well-played game on both sides. WDE and GBR.
  3. A hug is great until kick-off. Then I think we will have some smash-mouth. For both teams' sake, I hope it isn't as violent as Auburn v. LSU this year. We were beaten to a pulp...and we won! WDE and GBR
  4. Good Story.. But that still doesn't 'splain why Alabama has an Elephant doing laundry (tide). And when that magnificent Waaarrrrr Eagle', (Tiger VI) circles the stadium, I wouldn't want to be wearing Dred Locks. If I remember right, Eagles just LOVE things that look like snakes! Trust me there, husker, there ain't many bammers that can tell you why either!! Mainly b/c most of them can't read. New to the board.....huskerfaninokieland and huskeraddict directed a bunch of us AU folks over from aunation.net. Looking forward to talking some football. In regards to Tiger (our eagle) it is one of the most awesome things to see in college football. I think more impressive than the CU buffalo. It is breath taking for those of us bleeding orange and blue. Now I have a visual of Ralphie (CU Buffalo) flying around the stadium flingin' fresh chips. Nice ta "see" ya, Gold (AU)tgr4lfe. So does Tiger ever attack people with snake like hair or maybe take off with small (GA Bull)Dogs?.. Tiger hasn't attacked anyone, but UGA (Georgia's Bulldog) has taken a flying snap at an Auburn player (One of the more humorous photos of all Southern football). One thing that is unusual is the ubiquitous use of "War Eagle". It is sort of like hoo-ah in the military. We use it as a salutation, to express joy, grief, boredom, and any other emotion you can think of. WDE and GBR
  5. You're getting straight talk from the Auburn fans on your board. You should try to run up the gut. If you can do so, you will have the whip hand. If not, you'll have a very tough game. Our offense was so beat up all year that we have no idea what your defense will encounter. We could be tough to stop, or we could stop ourselves. Our defense will probably be stout. Tuberville tends to get conservative if he has a lead. We won't blow you out unless your wheels come off like ours did against Wisconsin a year ago. Here's looking forward to what will probably be a good defensive game. War Eagle.
  6. At Auburn we have a similar bevy of good backs. The coaches like to go with the ones they know will play well without the ball. There is also the issue of the hand-off from the qb. Each running back comes at the qb a little differently and the hand-off ceases to be automatic. Even if the ball doesn't hit the ground, it disrupts. War Eagle.
  7. I hope that your experiences with us will continue to be good. Overall, we are a pretty good lot. Being a land grant school, I think we share some cultural similarities. Unfortunately, we have some jerks. Last year Wisconsin mopped the floor with us. One AU fan embarrassed many of us waiting for the shuttle bus. He was on his cell phone talking in a loud voice using profanity in berating our players. I just logged on. The Auburn Board where you will be most welcomed and respected in AUNation.net. It is a moderated board and the mods will banish abusive posters to the woodshed, but enthusiastic discussion is welcome. I took some time off from football after the Iron Bowl, but I am looking forward to browsing your board to learn about the Huskers. I have to admit that I am stuck in the 70's and instinctively think wishbone, rather than your west-coast offense. Here's wishing for a well-played game that goes down to the last drive or defensive stand. War Eagle!
