This kind of stuff from the NFL drives me crazy. NCAA football is not the NFL minor leagues. If they really want a system to evaluate skill players and improve position players, then they need to create a minor league. Look at what Eric Crouch is doing right now for the AAFL - a way to see if players who didn't get drafted may have the skills necessary to play. Stuff like this is why being an Resident Assistant sucked at UNL. You had to deal with kids going through their "learning experiences." There were a couple of occassions where I had to deal with athletes as an RA - not always fun. We try to deal with them same as everyone else - through the school's "justice system" rather than bringing in the Lincoln police or even campus security. Unless you see someone underage or on campus with alcohol, they just get a write up for obnoxious behavior. If they're compliant, all they have to do is work in food service or do community service as their punishment. You get too rowdy, and they call the cops. You know, I lived in the honors dorm for a couple years, those smart guys got into just as much trouble as everyone else, they just never got caught for it.

I'm a huge Zac Lee fan after seeing his stats and what he had done at SanFran Community College. I think we may have another quarterback battle this year before the season starts. Joe cool is obviously the guy to go with right now, but he's got to be settled down a little bit without taking out his "gunslinger stinger." Keller just seemed to be downright timid at times last year (unless it was the two minute offense) - it was like someone beat the gunslinger out of him. We don't want that to happen to Ganz, but we can't have him go throwing around those floaters next year.

I will predict a Nebraska win for every game for the rest of my life. It's the way I am. I have never predicted a Nebraska loss. I'm a fan, not a football expert.

I am a Husker Alum living in the Kansas City area. I'm not going to actively search out to watch the games for the rest of the season. If it's on TV at home, fine, but I'm not going to try and go to any Husker watch party. In addition, the money that I've been saving for seeason tickets are now going to go to the general scholarship fund at UNL. I still think that it's the best education that I could have afforded and I would like others to be able to go there too.

In this day and age, you should be able to see any game that you want on television. The technology is available to make broadcasting the games pretty inexpensive, and a PPV pulls in plenty of dough for FSN or whoever runs it that week. If they can show so many of the 30 MLB teams 162 games (a total of 4860) in 6-7 months, then they can show 119 NCAA teams 14 games (total of 1666) in 4 months. (This is an over-simplifaction, but it can be done) They can do like the MLB and stream away games on the internet if they have to! I'd be willing to pay quite a bit for the games not on network. Heck, just have one camera angle at the game, and no playbyplay, I'll gladly tune into huskers.com or my local radio broadcast to listen to playbyplay. The Big XII needs to get with the times - make a deal like the SEC or Pac-10 and GET ON TV!

Husker Alum in Missouri here. I live in Kansas City area, so there's a strange mixture of 20% KU, 20% KState, 40% Mizzou, 10% Huskers, 10% everything else. I've got to tell you, overall, the Missouri fans are pretty good to me. Overall, the KState Fans are somewhat jerky, and overall, the KU fans don't even bother me til basketball season. But I tell you what - no single KState or KU fans really jump out and give me a hard time. I have dozens of KU and KState fans as friends, but they all are about at the same level of annoying. I have a few dozen Missou friends who are really nice, don't talk smack. But man oh man, I have about 6 Mizzou fans that I know that are some of the worst. I got dozens of txt messages during the USC game - like "uh-oh" and "my grandma could run through that hole" - all from this bad group of Mizzou fans. Don't ever bring up the '97 game with them - you'll never hear a more bitter tirade about cheaters in your whole life. If Nebraska doesn't win this game, I'm going to have to turn off my cell phone and discontinue my txt messaging plan on my phone! It's really bad that those few people can give the Mizzou fans such a bad name. Just like how we do it in Nebraska, if you see a fan of your team acting like a jerk, say something to them! Ok, rant is over.
