  1. Scheel's All Sports is good place to go to as well. Large selection, reasonably priced (moreso than the shop across from the stadium) 2960 Pine Lake Rd, Lincoln, NE 68516
  2. $10K over a summer equates to over $20/hr wage assuming they work a full 3-months. Thats without taxes and so forth. Since most players are construction management or business majors, I doubt an actual internship would yield more than $13.50/hr. However, if they are smart and file their taxes/fafsa as married/head of househould (anything other than a dependent of their parents) they can received federal grants that are just money in the bank. I did this my last couple years of college and basically MADE money by going to school and living off of our measly part-time income.
  3. I believe this is already part of the 'board rules' but if you are at a Husker game, it is your DUTY to stand up and shout for your team. Halfway through the first quarter my friend and I were standing up and shouting for our skers, when I heard a voice behind me yell "down in front, down in front!" I ignored it for a while, but when the same voice yelled "sit down! we can't see the game!" I turned around and, to no one in particular, yelled "its a football game!" At the next change of possession, the badgering voice came up again. This time I looked back to find what crazy person this was, and I found an old man and his wife probably pushing 80+ yrs. I have no problem with old people, but if you want to sit down whilst watching Nebraska football....STAY AT HOME! I pointed this out to them, and then showed them the 60 yard megatron/super tv/monstrasity/big screen that hangs above the field. They said they didn't want to watch that. Fair enough, just stand up. If this is too difficult, get a seat somewhere else where you can sit without people in front of you. Anyway, at this point I was tired of dealing with them, and went back to watching the game. The old man proceeded to call us idiots, but then didn't say a peep the rest of the game. Oh yeah...they were Husker fans.
  4. Does anybody know where I can find a Nebraska fleece dreadlock hat? I've found a lot for NFL teams, but none for college yet. I know they are out there as a few guys attending the KU game had them on. Thanks in advance. here's an example: link
  5. I just need to add an "N" and they will be complete. Comes in 3 colors: Husker Red Blackshirt Black Scout Team Gray
  6. Wild Corn = Wild Cat (i.e. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams)
  7. Anybody think Watson will expand his playcalling this week and run some Wild Corn formations with Helu and Burkhead? I doubt it, but with our ineptitude at qb I think we'll at least have a viable shot at moving the ball with this. Thoughts?
  8. i attended the game with several tiger fans and during tailgating and through 3 quarters i was on the receiving end of many obscenities. most were pretty lame, "hey sorry you guys suck", "stupid nebraska hat", "f*&$ the huskers". most of the older generation (out of college) were great company and i enjoyed watching the game with them. students were...students. it happens. still had a great time
  9. the Missouri-Nebraska Bell still has a ceremony in Columbia. Went to the game there in '07 and a group of people from each school came out in colored robes (red for NU, black for UM) resembling some pseudo KKK outfit. they recited the origin and some history regarding who has won it the most. most people were lost except for the over 30 crowd.
  10. This past Monday my wife and I welcomed our first child to the world, and the first Husker game he ever watched/listened to is a 55-0 victory. Sign of good things to come!
  11. i go to MST (previously UMR) in rolla, mo...just under 2 hours from columbia. i too am here for engineering, and bleed scarlet and cream. its not to bad being a husker fan because most of the students here are knowledgable enough to know that the big red has been dominate for years, and is just in a slump. i don't catch much flack
  12. go to york once a year or so to see family. and yes...that balloon water tower is hideous
  13. he'll be drafter in second day mostly because of his size and hands. but the pro scouts won't soon forget that he had a monster day against arguably the best corner in the draft, mr. talib
  14. agreed, but the red blob was there before i doctored it...special uni's maybe...
  15. i think the red grows on ya... but still, the alternating green we have kicks ass
