  1. The funny thing is that he's obviously the fan favorite, at least with Bryant out. Loved hearing the stadium roar after his first carry today.
  2. Ugh, that's what my gut is telling me...but I'm not sure it's a fair comparison is it? Nebraska had more cultural clout, more talent, and a 2001/2 national championship game still latent in our memories. Back then it felt like Callahan was burning the program to the ground. Now it feels like Riley's trying to start an old lawnmower that just won't kick into gear.
  3. I wanted to see what people were saying amidst all the rumors of hirings, firings, and other what-ifs. It's super, super depressing to come here today feeling like nothing has changed. Maybe that's only how I feel today, but dang. With all the 2007 talk going around Twitter and elsewhere, I can't help but ask: "Is Nebraska any better off? Are we worse off?" How about those of you who have been here longer - does it have a familiar feel around here? Like I said, I arrived in the middle of the downward spiral so I can't accurately gauge the trajectory and attitude of the fans. How are you feeling about the situation?
  4. Holy crap yes. Yes, Memorial Stadium is surrounded by concrete, but this is an ad for the CORNHUSKERS. It's a play on Children of the CORN. It makes sense, and it's effective advertising. We don't need to prove that eastern Nebraska is "civilized." Anyone with half a brain already knows that.
  5. Man, I forgot that this project even existed...now y'all have me bummed all over again haha Plenty of 90's Huskers documentaries exist though, right? Would anyone care to recommend some, preferably with Youtube links?
  6. Totally! We were both struck by how personable he was...the interview went about 10 minutes longer than we asked because he wanted to keep talking. Thanks so much for listening!

  8. Hey folks! It's been a while since I shared the Husker Football Fan Podcast here...since things are about to slow down for the summer I figured I'd remind everyone that we publish episodes year-round Here's our latest episode, in which we discuss our takeaways from the spring game and react to the naming of Tanner Lee as Nebraska's first-string quarterback: http://traffic.libsyn.com/huskerpod/S03E05_-_Spring_Game_Wrap-Up_and_QB_Reaction.mp3 You can also visit our podcast page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts. If you give it a listen, feel free to share your feedback. Thanks!
  9. Ah man and I was all excited about Ohio State's numbers being down... At least Nebraska has been consistent the past few years. I hope they keep investing it and letting it play out like a real game. This year it actually felt like I was watching a game instead of a bunch of drills.
  10. The first time I watched it I thought to myself, "Why would he include the missed FG?" But the more I think about it, I'm glad that you're including a well-rounded representation of the game. Some highlight videos even make our losses look good; what I like about yours is that a year from now I can go back and watch this to get a feel for what the game was like. Keep up the great work!
  11. Ok I came here because of the Hobo U comment that I heard on TV yesterday, come to find out this is an entire pattern of behavior from the guy. Keep this thread going guys, I love it!
  12. Here's the preview episode we recorded over the summer...bear in mind that no one really expected Northwestern to start as poorly as they did: http://traffic.libsyn.com/huskerpod/S02E04_-_Northwestern_Preview.mp3 There's also some talk about the matchup on our current episode, but it's mainly our reaction to the Oregon game: http://huskerpod.libsyn.com/s02e13-fortune-favors-the-bold-92016
  13. I haven't read everything in this thread, but after glancing over the last couple of pages I just want to say that I think it's awesome that we're even having this discussion. Sure, we were spoiled by the likes of Helu / Burkhead / Abdullah, but this year we have four options at running back. Four! We're spoiled. In years past we were wondering if we could even win games without Burkhead or Abdullah. Now (as we saw last weekend) if someone gets dinged up we don't have to run them into the ground until they're injured for real. Newby was having some issues so Ozigbo picked up the slack. Awesome.
  14. I'm going the opposite way with this. For once I'd like to see Nebraska completely trounce Northwestern. What a statement it would make if Nebraska could make it to 4-0 with a blowout over Northwestern coming off last week!
