Topics I've Started

26 March 2014 - 06:04 AM

I did not come from a naturally strong family. Nonetheless, there are two FEATS OF STRENGTH I am known for: First, during my five years years at UNL I partied every single weekend, often getting shitfaced drunk both Friday and Saturday night, yet I never threw up during my college years. Not even once. A puke free college career is my first FEAT OF STRENGTH. My second FEAT OF STRENGTH is that I could throw an orange on top of Harper dormitory, a ten story building. I did it a dozen times or so while at UNL. Those are my FEATS OF STRENGTH.

Do any of you guys have FEATS OF STRENGTH you'd care to share?

by Adam Rittenberg

1. Ameer Abdullah, Nebraska: Most consistent back in the league and helps his team in so many ways. Needs to score more touchdowns.
2. Melvin Gordon, Wisconsin
3. Venric Mark, Northwestern
4. Tevin Coleman, Indiana
5. Jeremy Langford
Also in the mix: David Cobb, Minnesota; Josh Ferguson, Illinois; Mark Weisman, Iowa

Interesting that no RB from either tOSU or Meechicken.

edit: Forgot the link in my first attempt. Thanks Mav!

Cory Ross coaching in Lincoln

Former Husker I-back Ross enjoying coaching

Once Cory Ross’ professional football career came to an end in 2012, it didn’t take the former Nebraska Cornhuskers’ I-back long to figure out what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. After playing for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens (2006-2007), Ross joined the Sacramento Mountain Lions for three seasons where he was named 2010 UFL’s offensive MVP. Once his playing days came to a halt in 2012, Ross returned to Lincoln where he eventually got an opportunity to coach and served as interim head coach for the Lincoln Haymakers indoor football team for the last four games of the 2013 season before being named the head coach this year.

Glad to see Cory go this direction. I gotta feeling he will be a great coach.

BAGHDAD — A group of Sunni militants attending a suicide bombing training class at a camp north of Baghdad were killed on Monday when their commander unwittingly conducted a demonstration with a belt that was packed with explosives, army and police officials said.

Twenty-two ISIS members were killed, and 15 were wounded, in the explosion at the camp, which is in a farming area in the northeastern province of Samara, according to the police and army officials. Stores of other explosive devices and heavy weapons were also kept there, the officials said. Eight militants were arrested when they tried to escape, the officials said.
