  1. 6 AM on a Sunday, and I'm posting on this damn board. Dumb. So, in announcement that will shake you to your very core, I'm outta here. Life's too short and Husker games are too long to go on hanging around here rehashing everything, especially on bad weeks. Nothing against you fine folks, but there's fresh air outside. I'm done and I ain't coming back. Mods delete or whatevs at your pleasure. GBR.
  2. Kind of like Osborne's coaching years. And in this day and age, as I've said elsewhere, Bo's not going to get 22 years to win a MNC. Hence, the upcoming decade of mediocrity.
  3. My prediction: Bo will continue to do just a good enough job (9-3, 10-2) in the regular season to keep his job a few more years. We will not make a BCS bowl with Bo as HC, barring some very flukey happenings, because Bo's teams will be outcoached in at least two games a year (often against opponents with losing records) and we will get to spend the next few years watching him not learn on the job. Then the new HC comes in, takes 3-4 years to get HIS program going; boom, there goes your decade, and it could be longer if Bo's eventual replacement isn't any better. In the meantime, Husker fans, get used to this scintillating selection of bowl games: #3 The Outback Bowl receives the third choice of Big Ten teams. #4 The Gator Bowl receives the fourth choice of Big Ten teams. #5 The Insight Bowl receives the fifth choice of Big Ten teams #6 The Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas receives the sixth choice of Big Ten teams. #7 The TicketCity Bowl receives the seventh choice from the Big Ten. #8 The Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl will take the eighth choice from the Big Ten; if no remaining teams are available, the bowl will choose a Sun Belt team. I would love - love - to be proved wrong the next few years. But I'm not very hopeful.
  4. Seems to me we have a lot of talented frosh warming pine, regardless of walk-ons.
  5. Exactly. Watching the Bama/LSU game made me cringe.... FR and Sophs's all over...... while NU puts them in the oven to bake and mature. Sad sad indeed. What a HUGE waste of talent. What the hell are we doing making a guy like AGreen stand on the sidelines? THIS. Why are we recruiting this guys if we make them sit on the bench? Why the hell isn't Jamal Turner playing? I love Rexy, but you're telling me he's the ONLY one out there who can play? Under Bo we have yet to have a team that plays like champions; I doubt we ever will.
  6. Thanks. I appreciate this Yes, this is excellent perspective. Bo won't get 22 years to win a natl title, though. Remember when T.O. lost what, 8 bowl games in a row? Bo will never get that chance. It's a different world now. Also, Bo is no T.O. Long run of mediocrity awaits us, I'm afraid.
  7. Who said you can't criticize the team? Who said it? Seriously - show me exactly where I said or anybody said you can't criticize the team and have to say something nice or don't say anything at all? I don't think even you can deny some of the absolutely pathetic things being said on here - case in point someone bringing up Carl Pelini's transgression for the first time in forever, just because we lost. Why did a loss require that kind of immature response? The issue here is that people aren't criticizing the team - instead, they're saying coaches need to be fired, they're bringing up off the field issues, they're saying everything is wrong here. Etc., etc. Pelini has lost to bad teams since he's been here, but he's also beaten many good teams. This happens to every coach who has ever coached a football team and that includes the great ones. One loss a football coach's career does not make. Criticize the play all you want - but this coaching bs that gets brought up after every loss is just pathetic. Everybody was on the bandwagon last weekend, and now all of a sudden Carl's off the field issues are why we lost. I never said Bo should be fired, or about Carl or whatever. What I've said is that Bo is a solid "B" coach, and that we're not going to be get over the hump back to the elite with him here. You think Bo can take us back to the promised land? I don't.
  8. AMEN!!!! BSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSBSB I can't stand this lockstep loyalty crap some of you seem to think means fanhood. Fanhood doesn't mean you put on blinders and can't criticize. BO LOSES TO TERRIBLE TEAMS. EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR. If that's acceptable to you, then I think it's you who isn't the real fan. HEY! It's the old sunshine pumper/"realist" conflict again. Love it. right?
  9. http://espn.go.com/c...ska-cornhuskers I see your 2008, and raise you 2009, 2010, & 2011.

  11. For being so quick to attack others' opinions, you sure make some incredibly broad-sweeping statements of your own. I don't know how close to the program you are personally, but you'd have to be pretty close to be able to judge how seriously a particular coach takes any given aspect. And without so much as a sentence of proof/explanation... Really, I can't believe an ugly loss to Northwestern in 2011 is bringing back the Solich vs. Callahan debate (which was never necessary to begin with)! Solich was a C+ coach and Callahan was closer to a C-. Bo has been around a B for most of his time here. None of these three have anything to do with the other two. Yes. Bo is a B. Not very inspiring, is it?
