  1. Does anyone know if you can access espn3 through a ps3? I can watch it on my computer but would rather have it on a bigger screen if possible.
  2. This is a huge get for Miles and company. The pieces are coming together
  3. As I have run out of football kool-aid, I have now turned to my batch of basketball kool-aid. I don't think that we will beat Creighton(haven't drank enough kool-aid yet, but there are still a couple of days) but with what I saw last night made me feel better about this season. We all know it probably is not going to be a great season but these kids are playing well right now and I think they may surprise a few teams. I said at the beginning of the year that we would win 13 games. I still think that is about right but if we can get a big win against either Creighton or Oregon that might springboard us toward a special season. Now I am not saying we will win the Big 10 or even be in the top half but nobody expects that anyway. Middle of conference would be a monumental success in my eyes and I don't think these kids will pack it in if they have a few bad losses. They will come out and fight the next game, at least I hope.
  4. I agree with this. We have lost some of the fire we used to have. I was listening to the 1620 pregame show on Saturday and they brought in Zach Wiegert and he made the comment about one of the games when he told the guy lining up across from him that he hoped his family wasn't here or watching on television because he is going to get embarrassed all day long. There is nothing wrong with the comment but we need guys like that. Guys that truly believe they are the best and nobody can compete with them. I don't think we have many if any right now.
  5. I believe it will be Gus and Charles Davis in the booth and Petros on the sideline but I am not 100% sure on that.
  6. The emails above give him a good ribbing more than ripping him or saying he is Anti-Nebraska. But I have to believe that he received some of those as well. But if you take your husker fan bias out of it, his picks were logical. The husker fan in me thought we could beat Ohio St but the real me knew that was probably not going to happen. Then we get slammed by OSU and we have to head to Northwestern to play a team on the rise. We had not played well on the road so it was logical to think that Northwestern could win that game. Then we get Michigan at home. Michigan had lost twice to undefeated teams. They were good but lost Robinson and the rest is history. Michigan St was not playing well but we hadn't been playing lights out either and it was a road game again so edge goes to Michigan St. Penn St at home seems like kind of anti-Nebraska pick but they were playing their us vs. the world and so they could have come in and beat us. So bottom line is his picks weren't just picked to spite Nebraska, they were logical picks. I am just glad he was wrong on the last 4.
  7. That was a great write up. Thanks for doing that. Sometimes you take for granted what these kids have put into the program and into the classroom. Like you said this is the epitome of class. I will miss these guys and hope the underclassmen will step up in the coming years to fill their shoes.
  8. So reading this thread got me thinking. I gather that Martinez is the not the best qb to play at the Nebraska and never will be regarded that way. With that said, I am very impressed with his play and they way he has stepped up this year and is starting to show some leadership that is needed from the qb. So I ask, where would he rank all time if say he wins the next 2 B1G championships, a Rose Bowl, plays for at National Title(maybe not win it), and just for fun wins the Heisman next year? This is obviously hypothetical and a bit of a stretch that I highly doubt will happen but I want to know what it would take to move him up toward the top of the list.
  9. Speaking from limited experience, I put in for season tickets for the 2011 season above the expected donation pledge and did not get tickets. I put in for about $100 over the expected and got skunked. That being said, I put in again for this season at the same level as last year, fully not expecting to get them. I did however get them for this season. My thoughts were that last year, being the first year in the Big 10 the donations were higher for people hoping to see history and to get tickets and this season was back to old donation levels. I wouldn't get your hopes up but with the new seats being added to East and putting in above the expected rate, I would say your chances are decent. On a side note, I have been on the waiting list of the East Stadium Expansion since it has been available and am hoping to land some of those tickets in addition to the one's I already have. We split the tickets with my in-laws this year and they want them for the whole season as do I so hopefully I will be able to get the East tickets in addition to the south tickets so we can all go to all the games.
