In regards to Holgerson he's the better OC, and he's the better QB coach when compared to Satterfield. If you're going to bring him in, I just don't see how it would make sense as an analyst, unless that's all he wants. Even if that was the case, I'd still try and talk him into taking the QB coach role at a minimum, if not Co-OC or passing game coordinator. It would hurt me to watch Satterfield coaching Raiola when we have a guy like Holgerson in the building. Given how much we have invested in Raiola, it would seem we'd be best served by giving him the best possible coaching. As an analyst Holgerson wouldn't have direct contact with players. There's a way to make this work. Kick Martin back down to an analyst role, move Satterfield to TEs and let Dana coach QBs. Regardless, whether as an analyst or full time assistant, having Holgerson on staff in any capacity makes it harder to justify Satterfield's salary.

Preface, this is directed more towards Husker twitter than any post in this thread. Seeing a lot of hate about this hire on twitter, and 280 characters just wasn't enough for a reply. How is it possible to immediately trash this hire with this resume, coupled with his playing experience at Wisconsin? Not even to mention his brother happening to be a 14 year NFL vet. Guy got his foot in the door with Hawaii, bumped up to two years at Notre Dame, and spent the last 4 years cutting his teeth at the very highest level of football, and thats not good enough?? Oh, he can't recruit right? In case anyone has forgotten, our starting offensive tackles, the ones that our fan base loves to bash, were two of the highest rated prospects at their respective positions when they came out. Benhart was the #13 tackle, Corcoran the #4. These guys were literally the very best caliber of recruits that we could have ever hoped to bring in at that time. Of the three OTs ranked ahead of Corcoran in that class, two were UGA commits, Broderick Jones, and Tate Ratledge, Jones is currently the #2 LT on their roster, behind a senior, and started a game this year. By all accounts he's slated to step into the starting role in 2022. Ratledge moved inside to G, and started the season opener, before suffering a season ending injury in that game. Paris Johnson, the #1 rated T that year, committed to OSU. He also moved inside to G, at least for now, and is starting for the Buckeyes. These were Corcoran's comps. Point being, recruiting hasn't been the issue. Given his history, there is no reason to believe Raiola can't coach/teach these players to be better individually, and as a unit. Unfortunately we're not Alabama, former NFL head coach Doug Marone wasn't gonna come in and coach our OL. We got who we got, a young up and comer who has paid his dues, and has earned the shot. So give the guy a break....or don't, doesn't really matter either way. At the end of the day we're all just random dudes on the internet, and this is just my opinion.

Adrian gets piled on, but the kid has the kind of raw talent not many at the QB position have. It's just too bad this staff hasn't been able to help him refine it.

i'm usually not one to toot my own horn, but....TOOT. All jokes aside, our guys made plays when they needed to. Deontai Williams with the sack and TD, corners held up during clutch time at the end of the game. Great confidence booster.

Wandale touch, then QB run. We aren't very multiple.

Wandale is at 13 carries right now, thats got to be his limit. Coaches may not want to roll with a true freshman with the game on the line, but if Mills is out Scott needs to be in there. Spell him with Wandale as needed, but he should be the primary back.

Great half overall. A few notes: -Great seeing a focus on getting the ball in Wan'Dale's hands. He needs touches. BUT, we've got to find a better way than just lining him up at RB. His body is not meant to be tackled by defensive lineman 10x per game. -Marvin Scott is my favorite of the backup RBs we've seen so far this season. Much like boxing and naturally heavy handed punchers, Scott is a "heavy" running RB. He runs through contact, every time he touches the ball. Really like his future here. I'd like to see Morrison in the 2nd half if possible, Mike'l Severe tweeted about him looking huge in pregame warmups. -Offensive play calling has generally been very good. Great seeing Betts show his ability, gonna be more touches coming his way as the season progresses.

Sean Clifford is awful. I wonder if this is what opposing teams fans feel like when watching 2AM at some of his lower moments....

aside from the Wan'dale redzone overload, the play calling this game has been markedly improved. The offense is rolling. Could be attributable to Luke starting, this being the 3rd game of the year, or a combination of both. This is the offense we've expected to see since Frost and co. arrived in Lincoln.

gonna slightly alter the question: who NEEDS to have a big day? Answer: our entire secondary this game is gonna come down to our secondary. PSU has quality talent at WR, but Clifford is an average QB. If we play off coverage all day, Clifford will beat us. The secondary is gonna have to force Clifford to be great today, make him throw into tight windows consistently and beat us with his arm.

We are where we are, and its not as bad as it may seem. I'm not an apologist by any means, but when he took the job Frost had a tall task ahead of him. With the roster and overall culture overhaul that had to take place, the 2018 season wasn't year 1, it was year 0. That makes 2020 year 2. Through 2 games, our defense has looked significantly better than it did last year. The D actually kept us in the game, and damn near won it today. Obviously the offense has to make some significant strides, and has to make them fast. I'm done hearing about how close the young talent is, especially at WR, or how they're close to turning the corner. It's the coaching staff's job to bridge the gaps. We're not playing exceptionally fast in terms of tempo, so even if it takes having to signal in a guys route to him from the sideline every play, do it. We have the talent to win in this conference, but the coaching staff is going to need to adjust in order to get the best players on the field.

No disrespect to Levi Falck, or Cade Warner, but Betts, and Fleming are simply better options at the X and Z receiver spots. the latter pair did rotate in during Martinez's time, but there were too many obvious passing situations where they were on the sideline. Obviously Falck and Warner are the more experienced pair, but when you're in win at all costs mode, which we certainly should be, experience has to give way to talent.

I'm not ready to pack it in and call the 2020 huskers a lost cause after a loss to a top 4 team in OSU, and a one possession loss to a 3-0 Northwestern team that plays fundamentally sound football. Defensively, we are formidable. We have young talent at every level, Robinson and Rogers, Reimer, Heinrich, Farmer. They handed the offense 7 points today, and aside from a few select plays, the defense was stout throughout the afternoon. Offensively, our line is young and developing, but continues to show promise. Didn't look as good this week with Jurgens out, but you can't deny the talent we've got. Jurgens, Piper, Benhart, Corcoran just to name a few. Mills is a serviceable B1G back, he doesn't create much but he runs hard and doesn't leave any meat on the bone. Thompkins and Scott look to be capable backups with a decent amount of upside. Its time to open up the WR position. As long as the players are academically eligible, and we're not dealing with an off the field situation the magnitude of Katerian Legrone and Andre Hunt, you play your best talent. Now isn't the time to die on that hill because a kid has an "attitude problem", or isn't doing things the Nebraska way. Fight that battle once you've built enough depth and the drop off in talent isn't as severe. Going 0-8 not playing your best talent is worthless. Scott is stubborn, but he will learn, just like TO did. Bad teams have problems they can't correct. All of the problems we see with this team are very correctable. its a matter of WILL they be corrected, and not CAN they be corrected.
