  1. I live near Sioux Falls, SD. Evidently they don't play Huskers games here (like 2/ year since I've lived here for 9 years.). Add to that, I RARELY see Huskers highlights in halftime shows, or post game reports etc. This leaves me with trying to get the games over the radio via the iPhone app Tune-In Radio. Problem is, 1110 is blocked from broadcasting the games. ESPN has an app where I should be able to watch games, but my cable provider doesn't work through that app. Anybody have any ideas? PS, don't ever move to SD. For any reason.
  2. Since I finished Black Light by Stephen Hunter, I've picked upTime to Hunt, the third of the Bob Lee Swagger books. I think Dirty White Boys might be next in line for me (as it ties into some of the smaller characters from earlier books, from what I've heard. Anybody looking for suggestions on what to read, I can't think of a book I would recommend more highly than Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged.
  3. I saw one website putting us at #14, which I don't think is out of the question. The preseason ranking includes recruiting class and exiting players. Same site showed Iowa (who loses everybody) at like #44.
  4. Taylor is still our guy. If he stayed healthy this year, I trust that things would have been different. It's awful tough to get back into the swing of things when you've been on the DL for a few weeks. Starling has done nothing that leads me to believe he will be in competition for the starting job in Lincoln next year. Cody still can't hold onto the ball, and in my opinion hasn't developed the athletic skill set that a starting QB at NU requires. My guess: Starling signs on to play baseball, Taylor stays in Lincoln and is our #1 in 2011.
  5. Yeah, I'm fully in support of scrapping the current system. I don't think for a second that I can put together the best system, but I do know that the whole "if you win out even against the worst 11 teams in America, you deserve to be in the CG." Nor do I buy the, "the kids don't determine their strength of schedule" crap. The kids DO determine what strength of schedule they want to play in. Let's say I'm an 18 y.o. HS FB standout getting offers from Hawaii and say...Nebraska; at what school will I get a chance to play against the higher level of competition? If I choose NU, I am playing a tougher schedule and it isn't incidental.
  6. I stand by the super overrated thing.
  7. I concur. Stanford is, in fact, super over-rated.
  8. Here's my problem with the whole Oregon being in bed with Nike thing. You get Oregon dressing up in all these different outfits and for a lot of HS type kids DIG that type of stuff. I can just see young kids in all their vanity digging the idea of getting to put on all these cool uniforms on TV all the time. I think there's a recruiting edge there. You can't really track that, but I think it's there. I don't want NU to change uni's but I DO think there's a group of kids who want to go to schools like Oregon just for the perception of having cool gear.
  9. Those stats mean nothing to me. They weren't playing the same teams. I truly believe Taylor has legitimate chances to SHINE next year as our #1.
  10. axl, don't shoot the messenger, I'm as big a 'skers fan as anybody, and I love TM, don't want him to go. Just relaying what I heard. Relax.

  11. The Bear insider, and talk radio mentioned it. Like I said, rumors...nothing confirmed.

  12. Rumors are that Taylor is gone. UCLA.
