So he's being recruited to play WR? I'm confused now, why did we not offer the kid from Bama, but we did this kid?

I think Earnest would have been a little bit of a stretch, but Robert plays in the second biggest class in the state of Florida and he seems to be more fluid and a better route runner than Earnest.

said the visit went very well and was what he expected. also said that the weather won't be much of a factor.

Will be in VT, as previously stated, and will probably decide on signing day.

Good thing it was in the 40s today. Not sure he would have said that if it was 0 with a wind chill -20.

Looks like he would be more productive at DB than WR

His film was impressive. Has excellent hands. loves contact --- both as a WR and as a DB. Violent player as a safety. Has good field vision and nice moves. To repeat, great hands --- in his film he had a dozen diving catches and acrobatic catches that were borderline almost uncatchable --- and he caught them. His speed seems somewhat limited --- not a lot of second gear in him, but his lateral mobility, his spins, his elusiveness and his toughness (and those hands) might make him an excellent slot receiver over the middle. He is not a stretch-the-field guy but seems to be a really nice looking prospect. Love to have him. His ability to be a safety or a slot receiver and the toughness and hands.... yep... he would be real nice to have.

In the Nate Swift mold?

Nice point. Yes... very much like nate Swift. I am a computer dork so I don't know how to put his film into this thread. But... if you go to the BBS under Lockhart in their recruiting section you can see the film for yourself. If you watch it, I'd guess you would, like me, be impressed with some of the catches this kid made --- over the shoulder, behind him, diving, wounded ducks that were like fielding punts that he out-jumped/out-wrangled 2 -3 guys to get --- and he caught them all. And he was tough too. So yeah... like Nate Swift.

Also, its not like he (or Swift for that matter) is slow --- it is just that his film was not about blowing by people --- but about being in traffic fielding passes that few people would have caught. And he was shifty too. And on D he was a missle. I would guess he has decent speed (not a strength or a weakness) but his hands, vision, and toughness are definite strengths.

I really like this kid. If we land him, I will predict that he will be a real contributor for the Big Red within a few years --- not sure if on D or on O --- but with hands like that, my impression is... put him on O.
