  1. first of all, let me say that I am a UT Grad and a diehard UT fan, so having said that...Hook Em Horns... but I wish yall the best of luck on Saturday and as yall probably already know, there are a large number of people in the DFW are that are cheering for yall to pull the upset (TCU fans)... anyway, i posted this on ShaggyBevo.com (probably the best longhorns forum...be advised though, the forum is known for, as well call it, "buncha a$$hole$ on this site"). I thought id share some tips about parking and about where to watch the SEC CG (If you care to watch it)... Parking: I plan on parking in Lincoln Square. Lincoln Square is located at the corner of Collins and Road To Six Flags. If you park there, and spend $40 at one or any combination of the stores in Lincoln Square, you are good to go...just put the receipt on the dash of your car... here is a map of Lincoln Square and all of the stores there... Six Flags is also open on Saturday from 2 pm - 10 pm...I have parked there many times for Rangers games and never had any issues, but I do not know what their policy is for parking for events at the Cowboys Stadium...at last check parking costs $15. Id call ahead first though to be sure there is not a problem with parking there for the game... As far as bars for the SEC CG... Sherlock's is located in Lincoln Square and its a decent bar with some tv's There is a TGIF at the SW corner of Collins & Copeland (access road to I-30) There is a Chili's at the SE corner of Collins & Copeland There is a Hooter's on the East side of Collins between Copeland and Road To Six Flags There is a Black Eyed Pea at the NW corner of Collins and Road To Six Flags There is a Colter's at the SW corner of Collins and Road To Six Flags There is a Buffalo Wild Wings on the East Side of Collins south of Road To Six Flags There is a Cici's Pizza on the west side of Collins right across the street from the Cowboys Stadium There is a Star Sports Bar & Grill on the west side of Collins right across the street from the Cowboys Stadium On the east side of the stadium, there is a Humperdink's at the NE corner of Six Flags Dr. & Road To Six Flags There is a Texas Land & Cattle & a On The Border at the corner of Copeland & Ballpark Way There is a Joe's Crab Shack at the corner of Copeland and Nolan Ryan Expressway If you have any other questions about the Arlington area, feel free to ask...ive lived here for 14 years now (moving though in about a month)...for those of you coming from Nebraska, hope you have a safe trip and enjoy your time in "God's Country"
  2. I really don't see us having 2 losses going into that game...have you looked at UT's schedule next year? vs. Arkie St. Easy Win vs. TCU Easy Loss @ Central Florida Easy Win vs. Rice Easy Win vs. Kansas St. Pretty much a toss up Oklahoma Texas still has one of the worst secondaries in the Big XII, and Oklahoma returns some of the best wide receivers this side of Nebraska. Texas loses, and their subsequent riots save the Dallas City Council millions as the toilet known as the Cotton Bowl is ripped to shreds. @ Iowa St. Easy Win @ Baylor Easy Win vs. Nebraska so I see us coming into this game at 8-0. I think Texas loses 3-4 game in the regular season. To either Nebraska or to A&M at Kyle field... Fixed for 'ya. Ya'll are welcome. 1) explain to me exactly how you see TCU as an "easy loss." They have a good defense, I'll give ya that, but their offense sucks. I know a lot about TCU's program, I live 15 minutes away from TCU and work about 2 min away from there and I pay attention to their program. 2) we have a new DC to fix our secondary problems. Its not talent (2 straight Thorpe Award Winners) it's coaching. 3) KSU at home wont be a toss up...revenge will be on the minds of every player out there. especially Colt. 4) We held Oklahoma and their "best wide receivers this side of Nebraska" to 10 points last year. They will also have a new QB.
  3. I really don't see us having 2 losses going into that game...have you looked at UT's schedule next year? vs. Arkie St. Easy Win vs. TCU Easy Win @ Central Florida Easy Win vs. Rice Easy Win vs. Kansas St. Win but close, this will be a revenge game from last year's loss Oklahoma OU will be breaking in a new QB and is without Peterson, plus their incoming class is not what is has been in the past...so i say we win this game. @ Iowa St. Easy Win @ Baylor Easy Win vs. Nebraska so I see us coming into this game at 8-0. I think Texas loses 1 game in the regular season. To either Nebraska or to A&M at Kyle field...
  4. prayers for a quick and full recovery...
  5. Please beat the crap outta the Aggies...I know its asking a lot but still...I was at the Texas-Texas A&M game sitting in the Aggie Student section and got called everything from **** to motherf***er...of course I was wearing burnt orange...might have had something to do with that...
  6. I have been to the last 2 Texas - Nebraska games and will probably attend this years as well. Of course its not really a road game for me as Austin is only 3 hours away from where I live and I make the trip all the time...And I am a Longhorn fan so I will be cheering for the Horns...no offense of course...
  7. I hope Boise rips them a new a-hole...I cant stand the sooners and this would be beautiful...I would go buy myself a Boise hat and wear it around the DFW area (lots of sooner fans here)
  8. I am about to head out the door to go to the game...just wanted to say again...HOOK EM HUSKERS!!!
  9. Thanks...i was hoping we would beat them by more than 2 points...also looks bad that 2 of the 3 teams we lost to, lost their bowl games by 27 and 35 (K. St. and A&M)...the thing i cared more about than winning was Colt McCoy's health and he looked great. If he wasent ok and didn't recover by next year (which is always a possibility with an injury like his) than we would have to choose between a redshirt freshman and 2 true freshman for QB next year...
  10. The Dart is the easiest option...im going to be going with 4 people though and i already have a parking pass...so money speaking it makes sense to park at the stadium...
  11. you will hit traffic once you get to downtown. I would try and leave at about 7:30 to 8:00 to make sure you get there on time. I am coming from SW Arlington and I am leaving at 7:00 am...
  12. If you do not have a parking pass, DO NOT i repeat DO NOT park in neighborhood owned lots or yards. The Fair Park part of Dallas is not what you would call a nice side of town (putting it very very nicely). I have never actually tailgated at the Cotton Bowl but they let you do it for Texas-OU so im sure they let you do it for the Cotton Bowl as well. If you want an easy cheap way to get to the game, take the DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) Shuttle to the game. I have done it before and it worked out well. Info here: http://www.dart.org/cottonbowl.asp?zeon=DARTHomePage
  13. If you really want good mexican food try a place called La Familia's just west of Downtown Ft. Worth. Their spicy chicken fajitas are amazing. Their salsa and chips are phenomenal as well and everything is made in house. You can usually get out of there under $10-15 bucks a person to. It is family owned and operated. The only thing is they are closed on Sundays. I have been there many many times and never had a bad experience. Map to it here: http://tinyurl.com/tdqyv
