  1. Thanks for the reply! I think I'll follow suit and just get good seats.
  2. I've only been to one away game so probably not the opinion you're looking for. But since it's Indiana if it was me I would probably just get the best view. Indiana fans aren't exactly known for being jerks. Plus, there will probably be a lot of Nebraska fans there so chances are you won't be totally alone even in the Indiana section. Also, if you're in a general admission section you can just go find Husker fans. I really doubt there will be any GA part of the stadium where you won't be able to find some. Well, I may have used the wrong term. It's seating that isn't specifically reserved for visitors, students, etc. But, still has assigned seating. Not really worried about IU fans being hostile. Just would much prefer to surrounded by Husker fans. I'm thinking tickets in Visitors section is only way to guarantee that.
  3. I moved out to Indiana a few years back and the Huskers are finally coming out here to play. Work schedule lines up so I can go! I've never been to a Husker away game before... unsure about what seats to buy. I can get seats in the designated visitors sections (1, 101) for face value $65/ea. I can also get much cheaper tickets with a better view in a general admissions section (105) for $39/ea (stubhub). I know our fans travel well, but I'd rather not end up being the only husker fans in a sea of Hoosiers. What do you guys think?
  4. Good news: We'll win a game this year. Bad news: That might only be because we have several games before Christmas in the 15-16 season. Err.. we've already won 5 games this year.
  5. Obviously he should have cut the fro. That thing acts like a drag chute, easily costing him .05 seconds.
  6. It's quite a bit different, actually, as most of Riley's guys followed him to a better gig. Bo, on the other hand, took a big step down to FCS and Brown is the only coach that followed. And he's a guy who has no aspirations to climb the coaching ranks. This move was 100% Brown being loyal to Bo (for whatever reason), with maybe a bit of spite for NU administration thrown in.
  7. This may be slightly random but.. if anyone is/was a Poker fan, Dan Mullen reminded a lot of Phil Helmuth. Sounds a lot like him, thinks he knows everything and has to dominate the discussion constantly. Again, random.. but maybe somebody knows what I'm talking about
  8. Every time a Ron Brown thread comes up, without fail, the discussion quickly becomes extremely polarized. I would assume that first and foremost his not being retained is more of an X's and O's type of thing. However, after the Bo era of "us against them", I can totally understand not wanting to retain such a polarizing figure. Husker Nation right now needs unity. It needs coaches, players, fans, and media to come back together and be on the same team. People have brought up the loss of continuity to Osborne's staff with him gone. I think that's a valid point of concern as we certainly hang our hat on tradition. However, a direct link to the Osborne era does not mean tradition will be upheld. Callahan did much to pave over existing traditions and he had Turner Gill on staff for the transition. The point being, Riley will either "get" the tradition and embrace it, or he won't. Brown being on staff is not going to make-or-break that.
  9. Its not so much Frost as the players he has and tonight the team they played. The only reason FSU was picked to be in this group of 4 is that they won last year and managed to win all their games this year. T_O_B To be fair... that's generally a good indicator of a national championship contender
  10. Not happening. Frost has zero reason to leave Oregon for anything short of a HC job. On another topic.. we have RB/WR/DL positions left to fill. Any buzz out on these remaining spots?
  11. Getting back to the topic... seems like a decent GA to bring over. Now, we are just waiting on WR/RB/DL positions to be filled. Should find out over the next few days. Any rumors out there? More former OSU guys? Or are some of these spots ones he might reach outside the box on?
  12. Why are we reminiscing over callahan years? It's damn near 2015 people...
  13. Tarin Smith is starting to show flashes of being good. We really need him to. Petteway/Shields looking more like their old selves. Hopefully we can carry some momentum into conference.
  14. I'll admit that I am somewhat surprised at how much we are struggling. I took notice of coaches and players talking in the off-season about how we really weren't a good team last year, we just got hot. But with almost the entire team back I really expected a better start than this. Yes, we lost Smith, but Moses looked to be giving us decent play in the post... he's out now but we were struggling even with him in. Point play is a concern for sure. I had hope for Webster after his off-season, but he doesn't seem to have grown at all.. still struggling with the same things. Benny has stepped up a bit in being able to knock down a 3 from time to time, but he's just doesn't have true PG ability. Smith is looking promising. He's just not quite there yet but he is certainly developing. He's made some moves in the lane that impressed me, he just hasn't been able to finish them off. And is it just me or does his shooting form look... weird? Pitchford struggling from beyond the arc is certainly not helping matters. He is a mismatch out there in being able to shoot over people for 3, He dropped a lot of contested 3's last year and now he's struggling to hit open ones. Our offense last year though really went through Petteway. He took games over by himself. Last night in OT when he hit those back-to-back 3's I think was the first time this season he's shown that ability to take things over. Oh, he's tried to do it several times this year, but shots weren't dropping and then he would get down on himself. And as Petteway slumped, so did everyone else. This has always been his #1 issue. He gets way too discouraged when he struggles which leads to more struggles for him, as well as the rest of the team. Teams have figured out that if they can frustrate us we will lose composure. Take a way driving lanes for Shields and Petteway, don't let them drive to their right hand, throw in a good dose of full court pressure. How many times has Shields turned the ball over or gotten an offensive foul trying to drive through 4 guys in the paint? I think it was Incarnate Word where they went after Petteway and kept him from driving to his right and he gets frustrated and gets a crucial offensive foul trying to go to his right anyway. The key to beating us is mental, and that's a hard thing to coach. I think Miles is doing the only thing you really can do... let them play through it and figure it out. That hasn't really worked for Webster though and I think Miles might be giving up on him, or at least giving him a break to try and clear his head. He got 7 minutes last night. This is still a very young team, with a some patchwork guys at key positions, and a lot of development that has to happen. At this point I'm not expecting an NCAA repeat appearance, borderline NIT looks about what we should be expecting. What I AM looking for this year is development. I want to see Smith come into his own, if by some miracle Webster can get his sh#t together that would be amazing, and Hammond making some contributions would be nice. Look at what we *may* have next year.. let's assume Petteway returns: Petteway(G), Parker(G), White(G), Webster(G), Smith(G), Watson(G), Fuller(F), Shields(F), Pitchford(F), Hammond(F), Morrow(F) There is quite a lot more talent and depth in that roster than we have this year. Petteway is a big *maybe*, if he has a good run through conference he may very well be gone. If we struggle this much next year I will start to be concerned.
  15. Well, Bussey is going to Tennesee so... yeah. But, no word on Ron Brown or RB coach.
