If you are not embarassed about the loss, then how do you claim to be a Nebraska fan. It was the worst beat down since the 50's. We walked on the field a ranked and gaining respect. We walked off beaten, out played, out coached by a 2nd game Head Coach and over 8 Freshmen starting on offense and defense.
That my friends is embarassing, no matter how long you have been a fan. I have seen more games than most of you combined and it was one of the worst displays I have ever seen from our defense. Calling Pelini a genius after that game is like calling Saban a loser.

If the team, the staff and the AD are no embarassed about this we have nowhere to go but down. But I am pretty sure this game will be the battle cry for this program for awhile. I never want to see anything that resembles this game.

I have heard every day how bad we suck from all my SC fan friends, my boss and my National Sales manager. Some wanted to know if we were a flag football team. I have heard continously about how untalented, slow, plodding we are.

I am not embarassed by the players, I am embarassed by our staff, and all of us should be. We were not watching the Nebraska football I have known for over 50 years.

I live in the same state as you, and know tons of UCLA/USC fans, and the general consensus is, "Wow, that was weird. Maybe UCLA is good.".

This is not to say that I was happy about going to the Rose Bowl and seeing that. But, quite honestly, Nebraska got caught in a track meet and lost. Pelini is trying to whip up the defense in reaction. That's it.

Call me optimistic to a fault but this isn't 07 by a long shot.

(reserve full right to melt down if I attend Saturday's game and it's a wreck).

Since this thing is melting down and ranging way off subject anyway, I have a story about Tommie and being embarrassed as a Husker fan. Several years ago at the Big Red of the Rockies annual banquet Tommie was there and one of the things they were auctioning was the cleats he wore during the Fiesta bowl annihilation of Florida. Now the embarrassing part, some drunk supposed Husker fan demands that Frazier put the shoes on because he wouldn't take his word for it that they were his. No, not all Husker have class.

Well, I have an autographed Tommie Frazier jersey that has patches from the 3 NC bowl games he was MVP of.

For those of you reading this, your loyalty will be called into question, if you do not posses the following items. If you disagree with the previous statements, you will be ridiculed, your fandom questioned, unless you posses Husker artifacts and/or relics that are equal to or greater than in value..

Yea he is the biggest pain in the a$$ as he played for SC in the late 80'/early 90's, my boss (company owner I sold my business to) played varsity Tennis for SC, trust me I get it year around from the displays we have had with SC and UCLA.

i was giving you a hard time, but that is just part of being a fan. especially a nebraska fan. i live in sw sd, right on the border of nebraska and even here there is a lot of nebraska hate. just part of rooting for a storied tradition. i am the same way with nd, mich, etc. fans.

I work with nothing but SC grads, team members. There are eight in the main office. I may get it a little more than the normal, as I talked a lot of crap before the first SC beat down, never learned my lesson and got it again. Had to wear a Tommy Trojan (dress) for the whole day. Actually made me come to the main office and wore that damned thing the whole day. I did not make any bets on the UCLA game. thank god.

My Marine Corps buddy from Wisconsin, has even been on me the last two days, hell they got beat to. Pretty much anyone that knows me thinks I am an over the top Nebraska fan. For that I bear the brunt of a lot of extra crap I think.

Need to learn to keep my mouth shut, but have been getting good lessons lately.

I hope you are right about this weekend, I had actually thought this game would be the loss, but with the loss to UCLA, hopefully they woke up a sleeping giant and we kick a$$. But I think they are going to put a lot yards on us, and they will not quit. They put a lot of points on the Oregon second team, and my gues is Oregon's second team plays better than our first.

i am pretty discouraged... i know Bo has the whole team concept since he got here.. i think its kinda odd how everything just seems to happening all at once... especially how we heard during the preseason on how tight the team is and blah blah blah..... i know guys are on it but its just a little disconcerning.....
