***Official B1G Championship Thread***

Pensick, for now. D needs to spread a bit. I know they're stuffing the middle run, but we're not getting beat up the middle. Everything so far has been on the edge. Why don't we have our D line all standing, showing different looks? We're stagnant so far.

Defense.. for the love of God stop the Run. Put 8 guys in the box with one safety over the top. Just stop the run. And tackle would you!

They are not committing to stop our run. We are the ones stopping it. Not them.

Stafford is playing his own game out there. Not within the defensive call. Safeties have got to stay honest and contain the outside. Why are LBer's sucking in so far inside when they are continuously running outside. Corners are playing fifteen yards off the WR's then allowing themselves to be blocked downfield. Get up on them, they aren't that scary.

On O, they are doing what we should have done. Use stuff not seen all season. Confuse their D and make them play from behind. Off balance, keep up the "crazy" stuff until we prove we can stop it.

Am I the only one that thinks it's kind of bull that Ameer goes into hiding due to rexxy being healthy. They should be splitting, ameer shouldn't just be in for rex to get a breather.

First Quarter Impressions:

  • In the past during these high stakes games Nebraska used to be the team that would be the most poised. Over the last 10 years we come into these games with the shoe on the other foot playing uptight & undisciplined.
  • Our defense is getting out manned up front by Wisconsin's physical running game. Wow a physical running game...I wonder who used to do that to teams to win championships?
  • Taylor Martinez's run is easily the most electrifying run by a Cornhusker in the last 10 years. Was it the best run in Husker history? I would say no, but it ranks right up there. I immediately thought of Eric Crouch's run against Missouri during his Heisman Trophy year.

Things I would like to see in the 2nd quarter:

  • Offensively we need to settle down, run the ball, and slow this game down. Not so much for our offense's sake, but more importantly to give our defensive coaches time to make some very necessary adjustments.
  • Defensively it is pretty easy...TACKLE, TACKLE, TACKLE! Two things lead to poor tackling, either poor technique or being out of position. We need to start communicating better on defense to get lined up properly. Trust me this will go a long way in fixing our tackling problems.

Kudow to Wisconsin though. Nebraska has been selling out for Whisky to run off guard with Baker out, and they schemed for it. Everything outside. A little disheartening to see our DE's and LBs unable so set the edge and force the wide runs back inside
