Phil Steele says Nebraska will be #17 heading into the season

Just actually finished the first half because I'm bored as hell at work.

1) It appeared as though we dedicated our front four to stopping the middle run. The ends crashed inside and never once worried about the outside until late in the half. This didn't seem like a bad idea because Wisconsin hadn't shown any type of outside jet sweep or option plays all year.
I think what you meant to say was "that was only the second Wisconsin game I watched all year".

4 total jet sweeps or end arounds before our game???? You are moron.

UCLA has a returning starting qb that seemed pretty good. And Nick, as far as talent vs talent goes, I would bet UCLA is stride for stride with us in that respect.

Like I said, with a young raw defense, and UCLA having the athletic skill on D to possible slow our Offense just enough, I thinkin it will be an L- as of right now.

I also put that asterisk in there that said if we see a spark in the first two games, and the supposed better players on defense are what everyone is saying they are, I will change my prediction and let's get this sh#t done.

I am more worried about Northwestern than Michigan at this point. Too much uncertainty in Ann Arbor where they're supposedly revamping offensive systems behind a qb whom they've wasted two years of development by putting him at WR and a lot of young and unproven talent. Northwestern's gonna have a veteran team who should be 2-0 against us and is obviously not intimidated by Lincoln. With Michigan looming, it has trap game written all over it. The rest of the schedule should better not be an issue.

You know what's sad? That awesome finish on Ball's run at 2:25 will more than likely get called as a PF pretty soon.

I see no way in hello that UCLA beats NEB.....

Every single one of us was saying the same thing last year.
Man, some people are acting like UCLA dominated Nebraska last year. It went down to the final minute and NU had kind of a bad offensive game and it was on the road.
Once again...NEB beat themselves in that game.....not taking anything away from UCLA....they put up a good fight and are a solid team, but NEB had their chances to put that game away IMO.

We gave up 653 yards of total offense to them, and only lost by 6. I gotta agree with Chaddy, I don't see them walking out of Memorial Stadium with a W.

They didn't dominate us at all, but we all were completely confident that we'd win by two touchdowns or more.

In spite of their yardage, i agree. I'll also add if Beck doesn't go into panic mode and stick with the run, we would have won.

For the realists...NEB will not lose more than 1 game in the regular season.....not more than 1....it's no losses or 1 loss for the Huskers next year boys. I predicted it. My predictions have come true the past 3 years. Mark it.
Huh? Are you sure you don't just make sure to predict the full spectrum of 1,2,3,4 and 5 loss scenarios in varrying threads so you're at least correct in 1 of them every year? Regarding 2011... :)

-I figured this might be sort of fun to get a season prediction going already! Let me know your thoughts and anyone else can add or subtract a W/L from the schedule. I believe we'll go 11-1 or 10-2....don't we have an extra team that we can add to our schedule??? This schedule was extracted from Huskers.com. I would definitely be proud of a Husker 10-2 or 11-1 season.....we'll see how it pans out! GBR!!!!!!!

Sat, Sep 03 Tennessee at Chattanooga Memorial Stadium W

Sat, Sep 10 Fresno State Memorial Stadium W (a 3 TD win, nothing too impressive)

Sat, Sep 17 Washington Memorial Stadium W

Sat, Sep 24 Wyoming at Laramie, Wyo. W

Sat, Oct 01 Wisconsin * at Madison, Wis. L (very close loss IMO)

Sat, Oct 08 Ohio State * Memorial Stadium W (a TD win)

Sat, Oct 22 Minnesota * at Minneapolis, Minn. W

Sat, Oct 29 Michigan State * Memorial Stadium W (we fall asleep and almost lose this one)

Sat, Nov 05 Northwestern * Memorial Stadium W (another close W)

Sat, Nov 12 Penn State * at University Park, Pa. W

Sat, Nov 19 Michigan * at Ann Arbor, Mich. W

Sat, Nov 26 Iowa * Memorial Stadium DRAW or a L....tough one to call
Yes...I am being a bit optimistic with this prediction...and definitely a bit biased...BUT...if we get our crap together, I think the Huskers can pull of a great season in the Big 10.

So did Vegas, upsets happen. I think the line was 7 1/2

Here's another good one...regarding 2012...

IF EVERYTHING FALLS INTO PLACE meaning the team plays better overall and we get a few lucky breaks, etc. (which happens to every team).....BEST CASE: 11-1. No way the best case is 9-3....no way.
The team I am most worried about honestly....is Ohio St. NOW, they will not be a 12-0 team this year, but they will be a force. I see 2-3 losses in Urban's first year, after that....I am a bit worried that they may become a solid powerhouse with Braxton becoming a junior/senior. At Ohio St doesn't bode well for the Huskers. I am really glad we were able to beat them in our first year in the BIG10. They remind me and portray the Texas of the BIG10....a must beat team even if they were having a down year.

..and some more... :)

If we drop 2....it is coming from Ohio St. and either MICH or Michigan St.

If we lose to Michigan St....it will be because NEB crapped their pants and didn't play to their potential. OR....Michigan St got plenty of lucky breaks that went their way. Michigan St's defense will carry them this season, yet I see NEB being the #2 Legends Division leader this season...hell, NEB may surprise me and take the lead in the Legends Division, specifically if the Huskers only drop 1 game....

I've stated this months ago and I still stand by my word....this team will surprise some people, but not me. I predict no greater than 2 losses in the regular season for the Huskers. This will be Bo's best fielded Husker team thus far. It's all coming together for this team and I smell great things. Aaand it smells terrific!

Ya caught me! Well....I think later on, before the season started....I predicted 3-4 losses in the regular season. I could be wrong. I thought I changed it later before the season started.
