Debate it: MSU's defense or Husker offense?

Judging from last year: MSU had the best defense in the nation behind bama. Nebraska's offense (while best in the big ten) wasnt even top 5 in the nation.

I'll take Spartans D

A very good defense/sucky offense in 2009 got us the same results as a very good offense/sucky defense is 2012. A 10-4 record with a CCG lose.

If I had to pick between a good defense or a good offense, Id go with the good defense also. That 2009 CCG (defensive game plan) was a thing of beauty!

I'm probably reading more into this than is intended but, since football requires both offense and defense, the complete question should be would you rather have Nebraska's offense with their D, or MSU's defense with their O? Who's picking MSU now? I thought so.

Pretty sure these guys, Crouch and Merriman, are just trying to show that they're not total homers to the BTN crowd.

Judging from last year, they won seven games and finished fourth in the division we won.

True, but we were in almost every single game we played in 2009. Heck, even our worst defensive game in terms of points (TTU) was highlighted with turnovers on offense, including a backwards pass that was picked up and returned for six. And the ISU loss was pretty much entirely on the offense.

I'd take 2009 again in a heartbeat. A couple of plays break our way here or there and not only do we beat VaTech, but we may also beat Texas and ISU. I'd rather have that fighting chance than sheer blowouts or back-and-forth scoring games.

To me it's not even close. You take Michigan State's defense. At least with that you don't get as frustrated with the amount of turnovers our offense gives up. Now if the question was Michigan States defense PLUS their offense then I take Nebraska offense

Im not arguing about 2009 or 2012. The question was, would you rather have Michigan St.'s defense or Nebraska's offense. Which I compared to 2009 Nebraska which had a great defense and a below average offense and 2012 Nebraska which was vice versa. In terms of win/lose record, it was the same, a 10-4 record with a CCG lose.

Now move on to my next line and I said, Id pick the good defense. The reasons you gave (we were in every game as opposed to being blown out) was one of the reasons I chose defense. As well as I love watching a good defense shut down a good offense. But in terms of strictly win/lose record, the results from those two years were exactly the same. So take your gifs and shove them
