SportsNation Polls about Pelini and Nebraska

My only hope is the players see all of this, get angry, and rally around all the negativity and everyone telling them, basically, that they suck. It'll either be a motivator or a distractor and I feel sorry for SDSU if it motivates these players.

this is brutal. those are some loaded questions.
talk about push polling.
No lie. Questions designed for a predetermined outcome.

Really, 2/3 think we will mias a bowl bid before playing in a CCG? Really? sh#t, I'm not happy with this season already but I still think we have a legitimate shot at the ccg this year.

And the "top" college program question. Could I please get a definition on "top" and some sort of timeline? Since 2001? No. Of the last 20-30-40-50 years? Yep.

f'ing smear job is all this poll is.
exactly. when i think of 'top programs', i think of it in a historical context. no doubt that we are not a top ten team right now. but we are a top ten program, in general.

top programs would be bama, usc, osu, mich, nd, texas, and nebraska.

in the same vein, i would consider oregon a top 5 team right now, but not a top ten program. "top program" speaks to the heritage and becoming a blue blood in the sport. where national titles are a birthright.

I got the same feeling when I read the questions. I mean it is a complete smear campaign.

I hope whomever sent the tape to deadspin is enjoying seeing how their actions are providing an "in" for the media to skewer Nebraska.

This does hurt recruiting.

We are huge in Maine.

if we are still considered a top program....it can't be by much. right now we are the team that teams schedule to get that victory over a big name school.

Why would they even make this poll? Obviously they are trying to get a reaction from the state of nebraska.

I am absolutely shocked at the results of if Nebraska will miss a bowl game before we reach a CCG (not win it)...

With our schedule this year we still have a shot at a CCG if we take care of michigan, msu, and northwestern (albeit unlikely). And with our schedule this year and for the foreseeable future (after adding maryland & rutgers) we will practically be handed 6 wins for showing up. After the expansion our division is so ridiculously easy I imagine it will be the Big 12 North all over again with us waltzing to the CCG every year.

People are just voting with their current emotions and state of mind. /shrug.

You're all missing the point here. This is a "conspiracy" between Bo and TF to motivate the players and the fan base. Secretly, it has been recorded that Bo and TF are best buddies and they hatched this "plan" to win out the rest of the season, and win the MNC next year with another QB named "Tommie", or is that "Tommy". Doesn't matter. Tom Osborne approved the covert operation. It seems to be working well.

I've had a blast in my early Husker fandom and am surely in this for the long haul, but part of my recent dive into college football has been watching a lot of college football , as much as I wish it weren't true, Nebraska simply isn't on the level of the elite programs. But then again, who is outside of Alabama?
