OK Beck, remember what NOT to call this time when Imani's in there

Is the Amani vs Ameer decision Ron Brown's or Tim Becks?

Whoever made the call is not thinking clearly. Amani doesn't seem to be running full speed ahead today (except for the TD). Seems more tentative than before.

Also appears the defense is tackling almost exclusively around the shoulder pads today............??

Why are people blaming Beck for the safety? That makes no sense. Cross is the one who ran back into his own end zone. That has nothing to do with playcalling, it's just a boneheaded mistake.

I think some believe an outside run is more suited to Ameer than IC

But we are only playing Illinois. They clearly suck.
Well, there is a bit of truth to this. I doubt these guys could hang within four TDs of tOSU or Wisconsin. Or probably Michigan.

OTOH, Illinois might be about on par with Iowa this year. Probably better than Minnesota and Purdue.

I read that on offense, the position coaches are given a lot of latitude with these decisions. It might've been something like they talk about it over the course of the week but on Gameday, any particular play, it's the position coaches call.

Also read that Bo's responsible for the substitutions on defense.

But yeah, like what we did with the run up the gut and kneeldown on that last drive? That's coachin'! That's adjustments

And on the safety, it was definitely on Cross for going backwards, but what were they looking for there? He struggles moving laterally compared to the other backs. On 3rd and 11 if we're not going to try for a 1st down at all, just run up the middle for some safe yards.
