When 9 wins a year isn't the whole story.

Martinez may not have been quite the same since 2010, but I'll still take the 2012 Martinez who blew through UCLA and Wisconsin for two TDs that still make NCAA highlight films.

The Martinez who started the Wyoming and Southern Miss games this year looked fine, too. The Martinez who led Nebraska to three first half touchdowns against UCLA was doing everything we asked him to do. At this point, of course, we realized the defense was a huge liability. When the wheels came off it never looked like Martinez was suddenly unable to plant and throw, or unwilling to run. The problem, we seemed to agree, was play-calling, decision-making, turnovers and panic. That was still Martinez leading a precision touchdown drive in the first quarter against Minnesota. Minnesota made adjustments. We didn't. A problem exacerbated by defensive suckage.

The injuries to our offensive line should have been devastating, but Abdullah had one of the best rushing seasons in Nebraska history and our QBs generally had decent protections. When games were on the line, the Huskers put together some nice sustained drives.

I'd love to think a healthy Martinez wins us a couple more games, but the four losses this season looked eerily similar to the four losses we had with a healthier Taylor.

Lost Minnesota with Taylor playing. Bo thought he was healthy enough to play.

Your post has no bearing nor anything to do with anything I said.
A curious stance, especially since you claimed in magical no injury land, Nebraska beats Minnesota. And the person directly responsible for who starts thought Taylor was healthy enough to play and beat Minnesota. He, obviously, was wrong. You are too.
You must have had your head in the sand for half the season if you think Taylor was playing 100% versus Minnesota.
Bo played him. Not me. Might want call him stupid instead of me.
Again, that comment has nothing to do with what he said.

. . . or the 4 losses the year before that . . . or the 4 losses the year before that . . . etc.

Instead of focusing on the 4 losses, I like to focus on the 9+ wins he's had each year. People who focus on the 4 losses = glass half empty. People who focus on the 9+ wins = glass half full.
That's fine. Would you be satisfied with it in perpetuity? Or would you eventually expect something more? If so . . . when?

Hate to tell you all this...but fans who are 'glass half empty' folks aren't going to help out players.
One more excuse for Bo.

You should post this in EVERY THREAD ON THIS BOARD.

Nevermind...you don't have to. Everyone else already does. The only thing more consistent than Bo's record is the people pointing it out.

So nobody points out the 9 wins? Isn't that the crutch Husker fans have used since 1961 to define greatness?

Agreed. I don't see the point of playing the what if game.
Its the off-season, what other game would there be to play?

And we've reached the "negative posters on Huskerboard is the reason recruits won't come and Bo has to lose 4 games a year". Next to the swimsuit portion, this is my favorite segment of Huskerboard discussion.

Again, that comment has nothing to do with what he said.

I know what he was saying, he's saying Nebraska needs to have an injury free type season that no college football program has ever had to reach a ceiling of a two loss year.

Actually that's not what I'm saying.

You really need to work on reading comprehension.

+1 for saying kimosabe

Technically the glass is 69% full and 31% empty.
...and the trophy case is REALLY empty.

I really want Bo to succeed, but the people on here constantly acting like the product we have is the best we can get because of x# of excuses are maddening. He is the coach and I will root for this team to win them all, but he is not above criticism.
