Imani Cross...

I wanna see Ameer split the carries with Cross about 60-40. Also in on the same plays more often. Lets make sure that if one goes down the other is capable and healthy enough to step up.

With the likelihood of Tommy getting the starting job Id venture to say we see the bulk of drives being a combo of TA AA and Quincy. We have more talent in place but we tend to push the stars to a breaking point. Hope we can blend all the talent into a well oiled machine.

Cross is capable of being an any down back but Id be surprised to see him used more behind the 50.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Quincy won't be here next year.

OK...let's say we have 430 (about the same as last year) carries by RBs next year. Are you saying you want roughly 258 AA and 172 Cross? What are you wanting done with Newby and Taylor?

Wow, that's quite the split. And I don't think Quincy will see any of the bulk on any drive...he graduated.

To not utilize Newby, Taylor and Armstrong running the ball would be insanity.

I think we're misusing him. He did power sweeps in high school...he even operated the zone read out of the wildcat.

I think he can make cuts just fine just based on watching his film from his senior year of high school. It's obvious he's an agile player...and he's even better at it now.

I think the coaches labeled him by using him in goalline situations and people just bought it. That's just not the RB I see on his film.

I wish I had a video of the games this year, but the only one I can find on youtube is Michigan where he didn't carry much. This far into his college career his HS film is irrelevant.

So that was a total brainfart on my part. Meant Kenny Bell.

As far as not sharing time with Newby and Taylor I wasnt saying that. Hostile vibe going on in here today. Im really wanting more of a AA RB1a and Imani RB1b. Then Newby RB 2a Taylor RB2b.

But the better skill of the defenders can in turn make his less effective.

I don't understand what you are trying to say from the bolded part. can you explain this idea further?

Don't mean to come across with a hostile vibe, hard not to do when having a good discussion via the internet

. I don't see how Imani could be anything close to a co-guy with AA. Maybe this will help...let's say we have 430 carries (about like last year), how would you want them divided between AA, Cross, Taylor, Newby and Tommy Armstrong?

So, what percentage is the split between the 1s and 2s?

Exactly. If his speed and agility doesn't get worse, maybe stays the same as HS, the defense he is running against has changed dramatically and most definitely for the better.

And to most of what you said about Cross' HS film...you could watch Newby and Adam Taylor's and say they did it better against better competition.

Its hard to say for me concerning TA. It looks almost schizophrenic when hes gonna get carries in games. To me its a wash.

Ok so maybe like a percentage like this?

Aa 50% Cross 35% and the rest to QB and RB2's

I just want us dto have depth come week 11 12 and postseason. Were in a good position to do that AND put real talent on the field every down.

I think what he's saying is that early in 2013, and in many parts of 2012, it was common to see Cross come in in goal-line situations to vulture a TD near the end zone. It certainly didn't happen all the time, but several.

So....let's say again we have 430 carries over 13 games like last year. You want:

AA = 16

Cross = 11

Newby/Taylor = 5 = or.....2.5 per player.

Split this up by quarter and AA gets the ball on average 4 times per quarter.

Give or take yes. But nit in every game mind you. There are several games we can do this and win handily ie. cupcake games. This gives the backups useful experience. In stiffer games yeah sure give the rock to AA more. I also want to see multiple RBs on the field more often so its not just aboit carries here.
