Bo can be happy all he wants, he is still a beginner in every aspect of college football. Would he be happy with the effort if he had just came from Bama. I take that back, even our AD admits the coaches have no idea of what it takes to recruit (cost wise).

Well we do it our way. And of course that has lined the trophy case with many CC since 1999, the last century!!!!!!!!

We are doing just great. I blame the coaching for most of that, but we are not helping our cause, no matter who the coach is. And my guess is, if Bo is let go and we get some dynamic new coach that knows what recruiting is, they will open the vault. Or he won't come here. But if they do, shame on Nebraska for settling to be second, third or not rated best.

Per Zoogies and other links, NU is the 2nd biggest spender in the conference.

Is Nebraska the 2nd best team in the Big Ten?

Now, it's your money.....when you're getting a poor return in your investment, how willing are you to drop more money into it?

I don't really want to go down the road of criticizing Bo again, but that's just on Bo. The coaches, how they approach recruiting and the job of selling the program 12 months out of the year, at every opportunity, even when they're not on the trail, that's the effort that makes or breaks.

The '15 class is off to a fast start, but it's not the first time Bo's supposed to have turned it around on the recruiting front, and there was still a 5-month period last season from July to December where we got 3 commits. We filled nearly half the class after the regular season was over. Nothing bad to say about any of the kids we do bring through this program, but I do agree with you that our results need to step up a notch if we want the on-field results to step up a notch. Otherwise, depth, injuries, and youth will remain chronic issues.

So this flip-the-script where Bo is now held down from recruiting like he wants to be able to...well, it's really new. And it's motivated.

The answer to this appears to be double down and invest harder. Which is the right move.

I agree with your post, but I think you are mistaken for levying any of the blame onto Osborne.

Tom Osborne hired Tim Miles - not Shawn Eichorst. Tom Osborne oversaw the Devaney renovation, the Hendrix complex, Pinnacle Bank Arena, the East Stadium Expansion and the CB3 lab. He's the one that gave the go ahead for our alternate uniforms and was okay with them, etc.

Tom is old and might be old-fashioned in his approach to life according to some, but he ran the department with tremendous balance of perspectives and kept us moving the way we needed to move through that season.

If you factor in all sports (where the 2nd in conference number comes from) I'd say that's probably close to correct.

Guy was coaching DB's at Southeast Missouri State - according to his bio on their site, he was one of seven coaches on the staff (at the same time) that played at Nebraska! Nuts.

Coach Wilhite is in his fourth season as the cornerbacks coach at Southeast Missouri State University. He is one of seven current Southeast coaches that played collegiately at the University of Nebraska.

Wilhite's coaching career began at New Mexico State University under Tony Samuel following a successful playing career in the Canadian Football League. In 1996, Wilhite was voted as CFL All-Star and finished third in voting behind Doug Flutie for the Player of the Year award.

He went on to coach at Dodge City Community College, Emporia State University, and in 2005 served as an assistant coach at Kentucky State.

Wilhite played his collegiate football at the University of Nebraska under Coach Tom Osborne. He was an All-Big Eight selection in 1991, after leading the league in interceptions.

Wilhite signed a free agent contract with the Chicago Bears in 1993 and began in the CFL with the Sacramento Goldminers.

Wilhite is originally from St. Louis, Mo., and is a 1992 graduate of the University of Nebraska.

When it's a team I love and my alma mater, I give as much as I can every year.

SEMO is a div 2 school, yes?

If so, a position coach-not even a coordinator- at a div 2 school compared to any sort of position at bigtime Nebraska? This is not surprising. I would bet he was not even making 6 figures at SEMO.

I thought this position was paying in the 50-60K range. Is that more than a D2 position coach?
