Spring Game April 12

They've sold 47K tickets as of a few days ago. Probably have attendance at or near 60K this year.

There's a 40% chance of rain, and some severe thunderstorms are supposed to be in the area. Hopefully we don't have another 2012.

Bo has been watching Saturday's weather closely. "I'll just get Coach Osborne down here. He can part the skies and we'll be good to go."
Weather Forecast: (wunderground.com)

KO Time: Partly cloudy, 75F, winds 15mph from SSW, slight chance of thunderstorms (15%)

4th quarter: Mostly cloudy, 78F, winds 12mph from SSW, slight chance of thunderstorms (30%)

Hopefully timing is right because late Saturday, 90% chance of strong thunderstorms !!!

UPDATE: Now 0% chance of rain both KO and 4th quarter times. My guess, misprint

LOL! Accuweather said 60% and gusty winds (25-30mph) during spring game. In other words, WHO FREAKIN' KNOWS! My dad's forecast was more accurate than Accuweather, wunderground, weather channel, US weather bureau, etc

“It’s the only way we’re going to be able to function,” Pelini said of the offense/defense setup. “It’s only way we’re going to be able to protect certain guys we want to protect that we don’t want to give a lot of reps to…trying to field two teams wouldn’t happen right now. We have guys out at certain positions, we’re thin at certain positions, and we don’t want to put kids in position to get hurt. It’s a student-welfare type thing.”
Pelini said running back Ameer Abdullah and defensive end Randy Gregory would be two starters who will see limited time, if any. Quarterbacks will be protected in the pocket, but eligible to be hit once they leave the pocket. A number of players will miss the spring game with injuries, including defensive tackle Aaron Curry, who’s wearing a small neck brace after spraining his neck. Linebacker Marcus Newby sprained his back in Wednesday’s practice but Pelini expected him to play Saturday.

So does anyone think that Bo will try to get kicked out of the Spring game? You know so he doesn't feel left out after Miles gets kicked out of his last game and Erstad got kicked out of their game yesterday. It would be a little funny!

Minor change as of Thursday 4:00pm. Wunderground forecast USUALLY, not always, but more accurate than competitors, again sometimes.

KO Time: Mostly cloudy, 63% cloud cover, 78F temperature, winds 17mph from SSW, 10% chance of thunderstorms

4th quarter time: Mostly cloudy, 75% cloud cover, 80F temperature, winds 11mph from SW, 10% chance of thunderstorm

However, Saturday late morning (11:00am), 30% chance of thunderstorms

Trivia: What's the last event when interrupted Huskers' game due to a lightning strikes in Memorial Stadium area? In other words, what year?

BTW, I'm deathly afraid of lightning.

1991, against Utah State

LINK

Despite a day that saw 14th-ranked (AP) Nebraska break its own NCAA record with 44 first downs, while the Huskers and Aggies were combining for 1,208 total-offense yards, the scene that may be remembered the longest was the hundreds of Nebraska students frolicking on the soaked stadium turf when officials sent the teams to the locker rooms during a 19-minute lightning and rain delay in the third quarter. It was the first time in anyone's memory that a Husker home game was interrupted by weather.
