Bo said it in a very serious manner. You were using it ironically.

And quite frankly we never went anywhere. SMU is really the only team that ever went anywhere. Nebraska just hit a bad patch and is now stuck in a mediocre by our standards rut.

I'm actually not using it ironically.

That statement however is a pretty good point to draw a line of demarcation as to where Bo's teams stopped overachieving, unfortunately.

 
Youre so focused on the destination youve forgotten to enjoy the journey. Stop and smell the flowers, remember why you became a fan in the first place. Was it simply because of the vast amounts of trophies or was it because Nebraska is a great program to support.

It was because I went to school there. There's no shame in wanting them to adhere to the same standards that got them to that point. That is not happening right now.

Its awesome you went to UNL. Its okay they are winning but not enough. We all want the same thing, I think you forget that. Nobody wants you to agree with the staffs choices 110%. Ive said it before and Ill say it again. Its only May, we dont kickoff for a while yet so dont treat the upcoming season like it was a failure before it starts.

why do they need extra motivation. isn't winning and not losing motivation enough?

And you wander why the SEC finishes with every team but Kentucky in the Top 25 at the end of the year. Its bc of preseason polls like this. Georgia and us were identical going into the Gator Bowl last year. Both with some injuries and young athletic defenses. We beat them in their backyard and they are a preseason top 10 and we will probably be unranked. That means they can lose a game and still be ranked higher than us. When UGA and USC play each other early in the year then one of them has to have a quality win bc they will both be top 10. Even if it really isnt the case. It is complete B.S. I know I am beating a dead horse but the only people that seem absolutely blind to this whole concept is SEC fans and ESPN.
