In the backfield was not only future first-rounder Lawrence Phillips, but also future Green Bay Packer Ahman Green. Michael Booker (Atlanta Falcons first-rounder) and Mike Minter (10-year Carolina Panther) led the secondary.
95 #1, 94 #3, 97 #6.

97 Michigan #8, and 94 Penn State #10, posers.

I hope we get this program revived and back on top where we belong......and I hope it's soon. Too much tradition and a history of greatness to be sitting where we are right now for much longer.

Devils advocate here, because I completely agree with where you want to see us but not so much the reasoning, and I think the reasoning is the biggest cancer in this fan base.
We won championships in the 90s. Why the hell does that entitle everyone in the state of Nebraska to an undefeated championship caliber football team every year?

Or you know once every 15 years.

I guess I don't get 1998 Tennessee being in front of 1997 Nebraska given the a$$-whooping the previous year. Also, Washington is too low.

I think you really hit the nail on the head with the biggest cancer bit.

I realize there needs to be a pressure or a sense of urgency when it comes to winning titles and proving your worth, especially at a school like Nebraska where we have plenty of both, but with how much we as a fanbase whine and complain when we fall short, it's pretty depressing. Don't get me wrong, I want us to get back to our winning ways as much as the next guy, but the sense of entitlement many of us have acquired over the years is really quite baffling. Maybe it's my youth, after all, I was only 8 years old the last time we were conference champs...
