Battle for the Starting Safety Spots

Mid-Spring update via OWH:

Nothing too interesting at the Safety spot. Cooper likely returns to practice as they resume practices. Will be interesting to see how the rotation shakes out with Cooper, Alexander and Gerry likely the main players.

Another pick for Gerry today. I really think he has the game-changing speed we need at that spot. Hope he's in the mix a lot this year.

Vincent Valentine on Nathan Gerry: “He’s a workhorse. I’ve lifted with him a couple of times, and he can outlift me basically.”

VV only outweighs him by about 100 lbs.

After watching the spring game, Im sold on Nate Gerry. Right now I'd rather see him and Cooper starting together than leroy and coop. Overall, i just feel really good about the safeties as a whole going forward.

Sorry if you've heard this before but I'm still holding out for the Gerry/Alexander combo. REALLY like Gerry - he's a playmaker.

Sounds like he had a slight injury to his AC joint which might have contributed to missing a couple tackles but he might have the best closing speed on the team.

Gerry looks much more comfortable at safety. Played really well yesterday, but made the mistake of trying to tackle Imani Cross. He got plastered lol.

Anyone know anything about Alexander maybe being in trouble? Saw a reference to it on another sight, trying to determine the level of smoke.

He is right there in the picture posted so I would guess no? Pelini mentioned a hammy injury for the reason he missed some of practice yesterday.
