***** What did we learn - Boilermaker Edition *****

I mean if you want to brag about 35 points against a terrible defense (especially when the last score came in garbage time after they handed us the ball twice in their territory after failing to convert on downs) then that's up to you. This offense is not good. Boom or bust again and that won't cut it against a real offensive team with even a decent defense.
Nobody is bragging but this offense is good. Unless being top 10-top 15 in most every single offensive statistic is somehow indicative of being bad.

I mean if you want to moan about being one of the most successful and efficient in the country and say that that somehow makes our offense bad then that's up to you.

To be fair Sparty played Purdue on the road, not in East Lansing.

Fairness is good but I really don't know that that matters at all because I mean it's Purdue. There were more Nebraska fans at Purdue last year than Purdue fans. A lot more.

We pull this crap every week though.

Enough with the incessant overreacting. We didn't pull this against Florida Atlantic. We didn't pull this against Fresno. We didn't pull this against Miami, we didn't pull it against Illinois and we didn't really pull it against Rutgers either.

I think that is the problem. We have some great running backs, and we depend on them so much. Michigan State shut down Ameer most of the game. Without Ameer the majority of the offense then is on Tommy's shoulders. He needs help from the coaching side. In his mechanics and play calling.

I will never fault Tommy. He gives us all he has got, but he needs help to develop further. He locks on every single play it seems and his read options are normally decided in the huddle I appears.

WE WERE STILL IN A DOGFIGHT WITH PURDUE WITH 5 MINTUTES LEFT AT HOME. So I refuse to pretend everything is fine cuz we "scored 7 points under our average".
SO WAS MICHIGAN STATE OH MY GOD RABBLE RABBLE SEEMS LIKE THEY'RE DOING OKAY AND ONE OF THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY I GUESS THAT MEANS WE ARE REALLY GOOD TOO!!!

Oh yeah. Dont forget how they put the game away in crunch time. We let Purdue hang around for the better part of say, oh, the last 57 minutes.

Look, we had opportunities to put this thing away early. But the pantshitting started early. With Abdullah IN the game. We scored on two really nice looking drives after he was out. So dont give me this "Ameer was out" stuff. He's one guy. This offense is erratice and hit and miss. Has been since day one under Beck. I like Bo. I still think he's the guy. But at some point he's gonna have to cut ties or something and revamp the offense to somethign that's not a jack of all trades, master of none conglemeration.

I still think Bo is so selling himself short with his assistant choices, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

We get a quality OC or DC for that matter, and take that responsibility off of Bo, things could get a lot better quickly. We see how things improve when Bo puts his hands on the problems, defense, and special teams this year. Too much for him to do everything. He needs to be able to just oversee the process, tweak where and when it is needed. That is what is holding this team back. He will learn. Still a new head coach, learning on the job.. I still believe that.

I look at how Bo has improved the PR game (leading the FBS is DPE, the next closest is over 200 yards behind) The D is also getting better as is recruiting. It appears when Bo puts his stamp on it, thinks improve. I also think he is in a crossroads with Beck, In private, Bo has to know there are issues with the O. His quandary, can changes be made without firing my friend,,,,, (IMO)

You know he does. If numerous casual fans see it, you know he does. Bo knows football. He knows what he has.

Purdue was never in the game except when it was tied 7-7...You can throw that "in the game" bullsh#t out the window.

Well Landlord I guess we'll just disagree about the offense. They have the ability to be good. At times they are great. But at times they are really bad. This is not the definition of a good offense in my mind. Stats don't always reflect the whole picture.

I just can't call them good when they can't put Purdue away just like Rutgers last week. You can't run out the clock...you can't score from the 1 inch line...you can't get points when you start with the ball on their side of the field again and again...this team has big play ability because they have playmakers. They have no consistency because their OC isn't very good.

"Well, three things I know for sure ...

"It's the receiver's fault when I throw the ball poorly.

"It's beck's fault when I throw into coverage, especially when I know we should be playing conservatively.

"It's the center's fault when I drop the snap."

21-7? 28-14? Numerous possessions down only 14?

Never in it eh?

Dont watch much football do you?

Funny how you quote things that were literally not actually said.

Tommy's more of a point the thumb guy than any of us. He knows as well as anyone how bad he and the whole offense played today.

Imani should run between the tackles every time. Newby outside. Play action. Vertical routes. Unstoppable, no defense would ever know.

Count when it's convenient to him:

"ignore the numbers! forget the result look at the processsssss. look at HOWWWWW it's done"

Count when it's not convenient to him:

"look at these numbers!"
