***** What did we learn - Boilermaker Edition *****

Purdue was never in the game except when it was tied 7-7...You can throw that "in the game" bullsh#t out the window.
21-7? 28-14? Numerous possessions down only 14?

Never in it eh?

Dont watch much football do you?

Count when it's convenient to him:

"ignore the numbers! forget the result look at the processsssss. look at HOWWWWW it's done"

Count when it's not convenient to him:

"look at these numbers!"
Considering one point I made 100% compliments the other.

Well Landlord I guess we'll just disagree about the offense. They have the ability to be good. At times they are great. But at times they are really bad. This is not the definition of a good offense in my mind. Stats don't always reflect the whole picture.

I just can't call them good when they can't put Purdue away just like Rutgers last week. You can't run out the clock...you can't score from the 1 inch line...you can't get points when you start with the ball on their side of the field again and again...this team has big play ability because they have playmakers. They have no consistency because their OC isn't very good.
Yep. This. We've already shown we're willing to pay big money more an offensive coordinator. No reason we can't get more bang for our buck.
Decent numbers without context against 7 bad teams isn't all that impressive.

Are you arguing with yourself?

WE WERE STILL IN A DOGFIGHT WITH PURDUE WITH 5 MINTUTES LEFT AT HOME. So I refuse to pretend everything is fine cuz we "scored 7 points under our average".

SO WAS MICHIGAN STATE OH MY GOD RABBLE RABBLE SEEMS LIKE THEY'RE DOING OKAY AND ONE OF THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY I GUESS THAT MEANS WE ARE REALLY GOOD TOO!!!
To be fair Sparty played Purdue on the road, not in East Lansing.
Oh yeah. Dont forget how they put the game away in crunch time. We let Purdue hang around for the better part of say, oh, the last 57 minutes.

Look, we had opportunities to put this thing away early. But the pantshitting started early. With Abdullah IN the game. We scored on two really nice looking drives after he was out. So dont give me this "Ameer was out" stuff. He's one guy. This offense is erratice and hit and miss. Has been since day one under Beck. I like Bo. I still think he's the guy. But at some point he's gonna have to cut ties or something and revamp the offense to somethign that's not a jack of all trades, master of none conglemeration.

I still think Bo is so selling himself short with his assistant choices, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Count, have a Snickers and rewatch the game. The D dominated for most of the game. Purdue struggled the whole game to march it down the field against the D. Up by 14, I wasn't worried the least bit because the D kept Purdue in check.

"Well, three things I know for sure ...

"It's the receiver's fault when I throw the ball poorly.

"It's beck's fault when I throw into coverage, especially when I know we should be playing conservatively.

"It's the center's fault when I drop the snap."

--- Tommy Armstrong
Funny how you quote things that were literally not actually said.
Tommy's more of a point the thumb guy than any of us. He knows as well as anyone how bad he and the whole offense played today.
Funny how you don't understand the point of the post. Oh, yeah on those replays, when Tommy threw an interception, into coverage or fumbled the snap, he was definitely pointing the finger at himself and not yelling at other players. Yes, you are definitely right.

We had less than 300 yards total offense. Not good for a team going against one of the worst defenses in the Big 10.
lol see guys

our offense gets criticized because we didn't score more points with short fields

then

our offense gets criticized because we had short fields and didn't get enough yards

I dont care how well the D played. Purdue got the ball 3 times in the 4th down only 14. Once on our 36. That's not "never had a chance". It was game, until pretty much the end. And the tendacy to have a mental letdown here and there for this team being quite prevalent, Purdue was one play away from giving everyone a caniption fit. That's all I'm saying. 14 points is NOTHING in this day of football.

And I find it comical from some folks who were so forgiving of our play a few weeks back cuz we came back from 24 down in 10 minutes a few weeks back to almost win, yet, are so quick do denounce a 14 point deficit. But if that's them folks particular viewpoint of things to make them feel better, all the power to em I guess. I'm much less encouraged at this point.

Would you like more facts or do you want to keep things to favor your agenda?

Please clarify. Dont make a smartass remark. Maybe I could find words to help you understand what I'm saying.

We had nine drives in NU territory. Six in Purdue's. Six punts, two interceptions and a missed FG against the "vaunted" Purdue defense
