It's got to be Northwestern, right?

Those guys are having a down year, but they're well coached and have the ability to give anybody a game. They've done it to us in years past, they've done it to other teams this year. Probably the most encouraging display from the offense in conference play.

If at the end of the season that's still our second most impressive win, though, then we'll have lost three in a row.

Sheesh. When you take a step back and really evaluate our schedule its a matter of there are huge problems if we aren't 8-1 or 9-0. We really haven't proven anything and I've been drinking the kool aid with a lot of people because we are 8-1 but these next 3 weeks will define us. The good news is we didn't lag an egg in east Lansing. We were very close to somewhat surprisingly beating what will be a top 5 team in December. I wouldn't be surprised if we finished 8-4 or 11-1.

They are now both right at the top of the league while OU sits behind them, Texas nudges elbows with ISU and Kansas for rights at the bottom, and Okie Lite is doing god knows what. Baylor......BAYLOR is a conference front runner year in and out now. The Big 12 should be the laughing stock, not the Big Ten. Hopefully that sorts itself out next year.

All those teams got better when Nebraska Missouri Colorado and A&M left and were replaced with a MtnWst team and a dying Big East team. Now magically the Big 12 is better off with less quality AND quantity. Nevermind its two star teams are middle of the pack or worse in conference standings.

I'll take it as a compliment that we had to leave to make all those other teams better.

Im still dumbfounded how anyone can tie this whole move to the Big 10 solely to football, and use revisionist history to complain now that it was the wrong move, simply because poor ole Husker fan doesnt have any big games to see this year.

No matter how it gets spinned, it wasnt the wrong move. Yeah the schedule was lame but that will sort itself out hopefully. I mean we got screwed on home games this year but that was because of the extra two teams joining up. Poor ole Husker fan will get to see better games in Li coln soon enough.

Three years ago, OU finished #15, Texas finished UR, Baylor finished #12, Oklahoma State finished #3, Kansas State finished #16 and TCU finished #13. Do you just throw something at a wall and hope it sticks?

Teams like Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State have far larger fan bases, far greater resources and far greater dedication to excellence on a long-term scale than any three schools in the Big XII. Oklahoma and Texas are the only comparable schools in the Big XII, while - counting Nebraska - you've got four in the Big Ten. There is too much money, too much interest, too much drive behind these schools to keep them down very long. Add Michigan State, Wisconsin and Iowa into that mix as mid-level schools, with maybe Minnesota and Northwestern on the rise, that's a pretty decent conference.

As it sits right now, the Big Ten could put ten of 14 schools into bowl games. Seven schools are already in, with Michigan, Penn State and Rutgers having solid chances.

There are always going to be people who pine away to play Kansas and Kansas State, because beating those schools 30+ years in a row was part of some remembered great and glorious past. Nobody will ever convince those people that the Big XII wasn't a toxic cesspit, no matter how much evidence you put before them. And that's why those pieces will always get play.
