Hypothetical. Maybe this was posted elsewhere already. Lets say Beck lands the job at Kansas and to help his friend Bo keep his job at Nebraska he takes paps with him.... Honestly if we get a good OC and Bo can be hands off on D I think he will work out. Bo can recruit players love him he runs a clean program

What makes you think Bo can make good coordinator choices? Based on past success? Shawn Watson? Tim Beck? John Papuchis? His "star" is Carl Pelini, who wasn't really the coordinator at all.

i really wish i knew why so many people are clamoring for giving bo a chance to bring in new coordinators.

seriously, why not hire someone we have reason to believe will bring in good coordinators? bo has not. we have no reason to believe he will. he was hired to fix the defense, which is setting records. just not the kind a fixed defense should be setting. so why the hell would we want to keep him here? what does he bring to the table? other than being able to fix the special teams, but then it was because he could not make the right coaching hire to do that and had to do it himself.

I would guess it's because most don't feel that our AD has the stones to fire a "winning" coach, even after the debacle that was the Wisconsin game.

It's a different time than when Solich was fired for going 9-3. He didn't just come off a complete staff makeover that showed marked improvement. He doesn't have a conference title in his pocket, or a BCS win. The media gets it, we won't get crucified for it.

You don't get it do you? it is not about which offense you run it is about the big picture. You need an intelligent coach with an ability to surround yourself with good solid people and then show leadership to move us forward and away from being a national laughing stock

2010 Auburn - sCam Newton. Currently Starting QB for the Carolina Panthers.

2008 Florida - Chris Leak and Tim Tebow (Leak is about to be out of a job cause Muschamp just got fired, and Tebow SHOULD be playing for some of these NFL teams that need QBs).

2005 Texas - Vince Young. Well.....he's not good with $$$, what can one say?

But still. All three had freaks of nature at QB. That's why they won.

You will never get 4* and 5* players here on a consistent basis if the offense they play in college won't propel them to the next level. Period, end of story.

And you'll never get those guys here if you don't have a ball control, play action type offense that isn't predicated on your QB playing lights out football every game. Ask Bucky about that (Stave 7-11 46 yards, 1 TD).

i have a hard time the media really cares about this program right now. 15 years removed from a conference championship and just last week the second to the lowest ranked one loss team.

Yep.....Sherman seems to be hoping Pelni might step down......doesn't seem overly confident Eichorst would make that decision.

i fear if this continues, losing the games that matter and being embarrassed nationally, it will leave an indelible mark of apathy.

You are missing point We could run alot of styles here some more fitted to our players and geography but what good would it do IF YOU CAN'T COACH!

Tressel is in his early 60's and why does anyone think that Gruden is such a great coach? Tressel will never coach again. Gruden won a Super Bowl with Tony Dungee's players and then promptly ran the Buc's into the ground and was fired.

I never understand why anyone wants those 2 coaches.

If you want to get rid of Pelini I think that is fine, but we can come up with better candidates than those 2 guys.

There is no reason why Nebraska can't get back being a top 10 team. If bama can do it, so can Neb. After the bear left, bama went downhill fast for 10 years, basically playing Nebraska football. Win the easy games, get blown out on the tough games. Then along came the idea of paying a coach big time money. Saban walks in.

While Nebraska hasn't gone thru the coaches bama did(7 I think) we are still floundering away the years with no general direction. We have to money, the resources, the facilities to recruit 3 and 4 star players on yearly basis.

I haven't been a pelini fan since the beat down in Indy in 2012. Should have been fired then, that week.

Nebraska needs a coach. A guy that will coach the players, teach them, support them. A coach that the fans can relate too. Bo doesnt fit any of those, none.

Bo is one of those "my way or the highway" It seems he his here to collect a paycheck, nothing more. And those my friends are the worst employees you can have.
